1) Jackson State (5-1)

With another dominating 28-7 victory against Alabama State, it's looking more and more plausible for coach Deion Sanders and the Tigers to win out the rest of the season. The homecoming win in front of over 53,000 fans was just another indication to how much attention Jackson State has received this season, but Shedeur Sanders has become accustomed to the bright lights. Deion's son completed 17-of-29 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns to go along with a 139.6 quarterback efficiency rating. Sanders and JSU will host Bethune-Cookman University at 1 p.m. Saturday, looking to extend its win streak to four games.

Last week's ranking: No. 1

2) Prairie View A&M (5-1)

In a gutsy 35-29 win against Bethune-Cookman, Prairie View showed that it can be vulnerable but are able to handle the pressure in key moments. With the Wildcats coming within one score and under eight minutes remaining in the game, the Panthers initiated a six-play, 75-yard drive that ended with Jawon Pass' 30-yard scoring pass to Tre’jon Spiller that would ultimately seal the game. The Panthers travel to Baton Rouge to face off against Southern at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Last week's ranking: No. 3

3) Alcorn State (4-2)

A 24-12 win over Mississippi Valley State keeps the Braves in the top three, remaining perfect in the SWAC. The game was pushed out of reach by running back Niko Duffey's 16-yard touchdown scamper with 3:39 remaining in the fourth quarter. Duffey finished with 138 yards on 18 carries. Alcorn State will travel to Houston to take on Texas Southern and look to extend its win streak to four games.

Last week's ranking: No. 2

4) Florida A&M (4-2)

The 35-31 come-from-behind win over Alabama A&M moves FAMU ahead of the Bulldogs. The game was highlighted by running back Bishop Bonnett's 80-yard touchdown run with 2:15 left in the fourth quarter. Bonnett finished with 187 yards and had two total touchdowns, including a scoring reception in the first quarter. The Rattlers travel to Mississippi Valley State on Saturday at 3 p.m. hoping to follow up the offense's biggest output of the season.

Last week's ranking: No. 5

5) Alabama A&M (3-3)

While most teams are starting to figure things out, the Bulldogs have been on a straight decline and are trying to avoid their fourth straight loss. The defending SWAC champions started the season with three wins, but since being stunned by Grambling State on Oct. 2, the Hornets haven't regained any momentum. The Bulldogs have an open week and will look to break the losing skid and regain some confidence Oct. 30 against Alabama State.

Last week's ranking: No. 4
