The Southwestern Athletic Conference has announced hosting scenarios for the upcoming Cricket Wireless SWAC Football Championship presented by Pepsi Zero.

If Arkansas-Pine Bluff wins its final regular season game versus Texas Southern, and Alabama A&M loses its final regular season game versus Mississippi Valley State, UAPB will host the championship game.

If Alabama A&M wins its final regular season game versus Mississippi Valley State and Arkansas-Pine Bluff loses its final regular season game versus Texas Southern, AAMU will host the championship game.

If the Alabama A&M Bulldogs and Arkansas-Pine Bluff Golden Lions both win their next scheduled contests versus Mississippi Valley State and Texas Southern respectively (April 24) the league will implement its host tiebreaker policy.

SWAC Football Championship Host Tiebreaker Policy

1. Head-to-Head Competition
2. Overall conference record versus common divisional and non-divisional opponents
3. Record versus non-divisional opponents
4. Football Championship Subdivision Coaches Poll (FCS) ranking
5. NCAA FCS Simple Ratings System
6. Best point differential between the tied teams, common head-to-head match ups
7. Best point differential between the tied teams common head-to-head match ups, against teams with the best overall (divisional and non-divisional) record and proceeding through other common non-divisional teams based on their order of finish
8. Coin flip

Maynor said that AAMU has to beat Valley by 8 points.... but reading this that skips over rule number 4 and 5.

Man why you go through all that BS? You know dang well they going to have to go to the tie breaker.

UAPB is gonna get screwed if the first tiebreaker that kicks in is Head to Head against common opponents. The only common opponent will be Valley. PB has played more games (for now if they dont play Saturday then it even outs if we play Saturday) and against better opponents (that victory over #21 Southern being the standout).

They better be glad they played SU at that time, if they played now it would be different. SC State only loss is to us, so I think strength of schedule is about the same for everyone. The only thing you can look at is the eye test and each school or haters will be bias. We will play anywhere!

I think he is incorrect on this because it says "Overall conference record versus common divisional and non-divisional opponents" which both teams could be 1-0 against the common opponent and not point differential against common opponents.

I think it will be the FCS Coaches poll numbers that cliched it for AAMU. Looking at last weeks poll AAMU was tied for 25th with 49 points while UAPB was not ranked but had 39 points in the poll.

The STATS polls doesnt factor into this but UAPB gets ranked in it (the Simple Ratings poll hasnt been updated on the NCAA site since 2019

PB still gets worked because they beat the team that might be top 20 in the Coaches Poll while they (for now) remain unranked

What about #3 A&M is 0-0 while UAPB is 1-0

1-0 vs SC State!!

I think rule #4 will prevail, FCS Coaches Poll because neither teams have a loss regardless of amount of games played vs non division and etc...

I think it's kind of fair and makes sense but a chicken way to not use tiebreaker scenarios

At least the cancellations this week guarantees two undefeated nationally ranked SWAC teams
