Much respect! That 9.95 lasted a very long time till Calvin Smith broke it. Those brothers in the 68 Olympics just didn't play around. Hines, Carlos, Smith, Evans, Beamon, etc...

I remember watching Jim Hines win the 100 meters in the 1968 Olympics in Mexico City, on a black and white TV screen. (We po folks in Alabama could not afford color TV at the time.) LOL!! But anyway, Jim Hines, Tommy Smith, Lee Evans, Wyomia Tyus, Bob Beamon, and others are the reason I am a track and field fan to this day. That was one hell of an Olympic team representing a very racist country.
