Rarely will you find a high school that can claim three Division I quarterbacks on rosters at the same time.

Shreveport's Booker T. Washington can make that claim in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. Three former Lions quarterbacks are playing, mostly in backup roles, at SWAC schools this season.

Texas Southern's Carlos Pierson has been the most productive. Pierson has played in seven games and passed for 258 yards. He has completed 46 of 71 attempts with one touchdown and three interceptions.

Another BTW product, Gary Cooper, is backing up Bruce Eugene at Gambling. Cooper has completed 6 of 9 attempts for 57 yards.

A third BTW quarterback, Kurvis Sharp, is backing up Quincy Richard at Southern. He had played in eight games and thrown four passes.

Cooper and Sharp will see each other again on Nov. 29 in the Bayou Classic.
