Report: Alabama LB Mekhi Brown, who had to be restrained during title game, has transferred

So you kick your own player out of school for punching a coach on the sideline.... then sign a player who attempted to do the same thing just because he comes from Alabama? Whate kind of message are you sending out?

It was reported that he kid had been accepted into TSU before the incident in the national championship game. But it surely isn't a good look for the football program.

Ass backwards ain’t it.

The kid did not assault anyone.

I see we have a bunch of Angels hangin' out on this board!

BTW, Have your AD call our AD...

If he hadn't been restrained on the sideline, he would have.

So you are 100% positive he was gonna lay hands on the coach as opposed to saying what's on his mind.

The kid just seems like a high energy, passionate player. That's normally the label we place on white kids when they act this way. But when it comes to black kids we are ready to throw them away and label them as problem kids

How about the coach being an adult and leaving the kid alone or trying to diffuse the situation. These kids are out there playing the game and they know when they screw up.

Why continue to pile on and berate the kid especially when the adrenaline is flowing?

Expect a kid to have all his bearings about him when he told to go out and bash another guy with his body; all the while possibly inflicting CTE not only on himself but another individual...

Nobody is piling the kid or wanting him thrown away, at least not from comments in this thread. You can excuse his behavior by describing it him being "passionate," but he way out of line. He even said as much after the game.

As an athlete in a game like that, in those circumstances, you have to know a coach, especially one under Saban, is going to get on you for getting a penalty like the one he drew.

And best believe it folks are going to question TSU about accepting a player on its football it who got into it with a coach after getting rid of a kid who got into a confrontation with a coach.

Kids and coaches have exchanges on any given Saturday.

It was a big deal because it was a Championship game and ESPN needs story lines and drama in their telecast outside of the game.

Turn your back on a kid because he had a lapse in judgement in a NC game?

Latrelle Lee made a huge mistake and my prayer is that he learns from it and goes on to become a productive member of society.

Don't place Brown in the same box as Lee.

You’re making too many excuses for the kid...we’ve all played sports and we’ve all gotten chewed out for making stupid plays on the field.
