The National Science Foundation Robert Noyce Teacher Scholarship Program (Noyce) has awarded a grant of $1.2 million for five years to support the “Building a Community of URM Mathematics and Science Teachers” project at Prairie View A&M University (PVAMU).
Led by PVAMU Assistant Professor of Curriculum & Instruction Camille Burnett, Ph.D. – and in collaboration with her Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs), the Spring Independent School District, and the University’s former Noyce Capacity Building partners – the project aims to increase the number of highly effective underrepresented and racially minoritized (URM) secondary mathematics and science teachers graduating from PVAMU.
