You could have probably got the same room for about $55. With tourism down and occupancy down a lot of rooms are out there. I was in New Orleans in late August for a class and had a price of $95 for a double in that same hotel without a discount(fire dept was paying so it didn't matter). Oh, by the way they didn't tell you that parking is extra, $30 per day.

They did not accept my first bid which was lower than $80.00. And yes I am fully aware of the cost of parking. However, when you consider the fact that the going rate at that same location is $189.00/night I am still coming out on top. Considering what I had to pay last year, I am very pleased.
