Howard, FAMU, BCU, SCSU, ... sounds god awfully MEACish in scheduling, imho. Why leave them when now you actually need them and including them in your long range strategic goals? Very odd. smh

Lol the remaining MEAC schools have 6 out of conference games to fill. So we schedule a win here and there to help our profile. Any FCS win helps your playoff resume.

So we get the gate and a OOC FCS win, looks like a win , win for us

They aren't so bright are they? To allow your school to use them for their advantage and to attempt a "connection" to HBCUism.

That TennSt model, we'll see what's what w/ your fanbase shortly. lol

It's almost as if they should have stayed in a HBCU conference if they schedule mostly HBCUs as OOC opponents.

But yay to "progress" in a deadend Big South

The MEAC teams we haven't scheduled - sans maybe Howard for the DC alumni - don't move the needle for us.

We'll probably get something on the books for FAMU in Charlotte soon.

We can't go to the playoffs in the MEAC. Not our fault. Is what it is. We play our rivals and old friends and then win Big South and get to the playoffs

better be happy i'm not meac commish. wouldn't have found a meac game playing spades, yet alone football.

Its 6 football playing schools in the MEAC

On an 11 game schedule, that's 5 conference games and 6 Non Conference games. Who do yall think these MEAC schools are gonna play. Take the emotion out of it and be logical. MEAC is one of the smallest FCS conferences. Which means most FCS conferences start conference play before them. They have to fill their schedule.

I think y'all need them more than they need you. you're not going to make money in your new conference so you want meac schools to fill your coffers. wouldn't have been me, that's all I'm saying.

The MEAC isn't the SWAC football wise. People will attend to see the band but schools aren't traveling to each other like the SWAC. Norfolk won't bring 1k fans to A&T and that's including the band. FAMU has the best traveling fans in the MEAC followed by us.

The Football culture is different

2019 MEAC Attendance

NCA&T - 16,927
FAMU - 16,537
NSU - 11,296
SCSU - 10,339
NCCU - 6,335
Morgan St - 4,815
Howard - 3,829
Del State -1,514

Any school south of the North Carolina/Virginia border had more football culture - Central kinda was on the borderline with basketball being more popular but when they were on its different. A&T, SC State, FAMU were the bellcows

BCU is an anomaly - the SWAC will be interesting to see how fans react
