Not HBCU related but this Bama vs LSU game

Bama #4....Please be mindful that none of these polls matter until December. I am hoping Bama will be 5or 6 on Tuesday evening. Lots of football to be played....Ohio State has to play Penn State and Michigan, LSU has to play Georgia (Need LSU to win). Georgia has to play Auburn, Oregon has to play Utah....Minnesota has to play Wisconsin etc.....If things go as planned, maybe LSU will have a chance to beat Bama again.....

Georgia better be very careful with Auburn.......LOL

JRock, I was shocked at the number of black LSU fans walking around Tuscaloosa in LSU gear this weekend...Is this a new trend....plus, CBS kept showing black LSU fans in the stands...I am not saying this as a negative, just a shocker. Lots of frats and Sororities. Normally, Mississippi State brings a large group of black fans...

my daughter tells me there are enough of them on campus that she doesn't feel compelled to speak to every black person.

East Baton Rouge is a predominately black Parish (county). LSU have about 4,000 black students. Blacks in the Baton Rouge community has followed college football for a very long time (It's a college town). LSU is currently getting the best high school students athletes in the state of Louisiana and have for quite sometime. As a consequence of the aforementioned, they have acquired a black fan base though no where close to whites. However, a significant amount of blacks in Louisiana follow LSU football whether it's in the stands are on T.V.

Also LSU’s Coach has publicly supported Jon Bel Edwards as Governor of Louisiana. Right. Is black folk love him.

I still say it is those lock room sleep pods that did it. In the future, maybe they should invest in oxygen chambers for them. I think a highly oxygenated and well rested team makes a world of difference.

Not only is LSU just as physical as Alabama is this year, But they have a show stopping and physical Quarterback as well. As much as I would like LSU to lose because I think LSU is a very cocky, Un disciplined, thug/bully type team.... I think there going to top Alabama this year. I'm taking LSU by a touchdown.

What thuggish behavior are you referring to???

I don't believe that. What I do believe is one can walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. However, you're entitled to your opinion (like others are). You really can't control what folks talk about on a message board. If you don't like it, then it is not an imperative that you read it.

I do. We have been consumed with that game all week. And I do not control what people talk about on the board. So if that is the case, then go on the SEC Board and discuss Alcorn/Grambling and see how long that last. I know for the SEC that was a huge game, but we treat our games like they are nothing and Alcorn/Grambling was huge as well for us HBCU/SWAC People.

They have reasons why they did it and it was not because they love black people so much!

To many black people in Louisiana, LSU is "their" university just like black people in Alabama think UA is "their" university which technically it is because their state taxes fund both institutions annually but us intelligent black folk know better. If you're in Louisiana or Alabama, you're gonna see LSU and UA all day so there's a brainwashing effect going on if you not mindful of wassup. Despite LSU and Alabama having 10-13% black students on campus which is relatively high for flagship Tier 1 research state schools, both schools were built for white people and you're reminded of that almost daily on both campuses.

When Trump came out to a roaring round of applause (after being booed at the UFC championship match and World Series finals), that reaffirmed what all black people should know. LSU and Alabama are "unsafe" spaces for people who are self-aware of their blackness and history ... not all PWIs are like that bad but these two definitely are. And of course I was so happy when Alabama lost after the way they received Donald Trump

And btw, I was at the black tailgate in Tuscaloosa and it had nothing on a SWAC tailgate ... nothing on it. I don't like to be in white spaces unless I have to and UA is not necessary so I will likely decline the next invitation. Hopefully next year I'm in town to go to the Magic City Classic in Birmingham ... to me that's a good time all around and I don't have to stay in the "black section" to enjoy myself or feel safe.

The Louisiana and Alabama HBCUs have done more to uplift and repair the black community than LSU and UA ever done ... lost black people need to be reminded of that. I'm not excited when I see black people who didn't even go to LSU and UA more invested in them than their state HBCUs

A lot of truth told and they will let you know in a minute what you are here for. We need your talent and would not be here if you did not have one we need. I read what we paid to go see the game, but complain about the 25 to 30 dollars to see our schools play. Brainwashing to the highest.

LSU and UA exploit black male bodies for damn near BILLIONS .... they don't share the wealth at all (revamped slavery). You know how much Alabama and business investors made that night versus how much the poor black players took home????? If you take away football from UA and LSU .... you'll be shocked at the negative economic impact for both states

Sometimes it is really hard for me to watch the very popular conferences with very black teams play football and basketball ... especially if I'm having a very "woke" day. Pay these players more than pennies (free tuition & room and board) which all big universities have the ability to waive without causing them no financial harm at all. Then you have white republicans in Alabama and Louisiana fighting to stop these players from getting what's rightfully theirs.

If I had a son, he definitely wouldn't be playing football and if he was good at it ... it would be in Canada somewhere where he can get paid until he's in the NFL. There needs to be an alternative other than college to get to the NFL ... it's just not right and fair. I can't wait until these old money hungry white execs die off some more ... hopefully some more reasonable and diverse voices enter the picture

If LSU beats Georgia in the SEC Championship, I believe... I do believe LSU will take it all. Burrow is simply outstanding man. I really like this dude. Jefferson, Perriloux, Jennings, Harris, Narcisse, maybe more... you know all these brothers were given the opportunity, but unfortunately it just didn't happen. You know its very unfortunate.... That's for those people who claim "people" root better/support more for the other(s)

Good to know and I was impressed. My only issue with this year's game is that it was not a night game. It was our time to host the Bama vs LSU game. Next year the Baton Rouge family will host. Therefore, I missed the JSU vs AAMU game; however, we streamed the game live from the internet. There were people here from Cheneyville, Shreveport, Baton Rouge, Zachary, Huntsville, and Dallas, Texas. Also, Nupes, Deltas, AKA's and Alphas. Graduates from Alabama, Southern, Jackson State, Alabama A&M, Texas Southern and Shelton State Community College. We had an awesome time and not one time got involved in the game of politics. Simply intelligent people who love the game of football. These same people will attend the "Soul Bowl, Magic City Classic, Bayou Classic, and the Labor Day Classic between TSU and PV. Plus, will be in Mobile, Alabama when SU play AAMU in September... So props to those who are versatile enough to enjoy good wholesome football....

PS: What"s the deal on this chicken place in Baton Rouge called Blue Store?

The LSU, Bama, the SWAC and MEAC and everyone under the NCAA umbrella exploits them too.

The SWAC and MEAC don't make a huge profit. If they did, I would agree. Also I've known SWAC and MEAC players hold down part-time jobs doing the season ... that's impossible as a SEC, Big 12, ACC football player

For quite some time from what ive observed. LSU's football team does come off as bullies because there always 1 or 2 players after plays pushing, shoving, or punching the other team on average more than ive seen other teams do "on average". Plus on average, it never fails, LSU "always" has 1 or 2 players kicked off the team for "outside game/school" incidents. Every year just about.

So when HBCUs are playing these P5 football schools KNOWING they ain’t gonna win — all for money (because there is no real reason why Southern should be thinking about playing LSU)— you don’t think those players are being exploited? That, what the SWAC and MEAC does to those players in those situations, is worse than what you think the SEC does.

All these schools are exploiting the athletes for money no matter how much money is being made.

It's not the same. Like I said, the SWAC and MEAC athletic programs are not making a profit (even with the money games) so they don't have the means to share. All their money goes back into keep the athletic programs alive. LSU and Alabama are making huge profits and have the means to share the wealth. They have enough to keep their athletic programs alive 100 times over. ... they have so much EXTRA money

You just proved my point by explaining the situation the HBCUs athletes have to deal with.

So where’s all the suicidal Bama video and news stories? It’s the only thing good that comes out of this transcontinental slave trade of a game.

Man. I actually wouldnt mind purchasing one one day.

Something about being in an enclosed tube where the smallest spark could BBQ a person in seconds makes me extremely nervous. I guess that's why all devices such as TV's are placed on the outside of those chambers. You saw what happened to the Hindenburg. I'll take my chances with 21% atmospheric oxygen. I get nervous just watching old folks at casinos smoking cigarettes while dragging some oxygen bottle around at the same time. It's like they are saying screw life.

@SUjagTILLiDIE may know about Blue Store. I'm not aware of it.
