Kim Jong Un's uncle executed as a 'traitor': North Korea's second most powerful man is taken from military court and killed - as state media brands him 'worse than a dog'

The uncle of North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has been dragged from a military court and executed for being a 'traitor'.

Jang Song Thaek, 67, who had been considered the second most powerful official in the country and a mentor to his nephew, was killed immediately after a trial.

It is believed he was executed in the customary North Korean way by firing squad.

In a statement Pyongyang called him a 'traitor to the nation for all ages,' 'worse than a dog' and 'despicable human scum' who planned a military coup.

In a sharp reversal of the popular image of Jang Song Thaek as a kindly uncle guiding young leader Kim Jong Un as he consolidated power, the North's official Korean Central News Agency indicated that Jang instead saw the death of Kim's father, Kim Jong Il, in December 2011 as an opportunity to challenge his nephew and win power.

Just days ago, North Korea accused Jang of corruption, womanizing, gambling and taking drugs, and said he'd been 'eliminated' from all his posts.

But Friday's allegations, which couldn't be independently confirmed, were linked to a claim that he tried 'to overthrow the state by all sorts of intrigues and despicable methods with a wild ambition to grab the supreme power of our party and state.

There was no immediate word about the fate of Jang's wife, Kim Kyong Hui, the younger sister of Kim Jong Il, although some analysts believe that because she is directly related to the nation's founder, Kim Il Sung, and has been reportedly ill, she may be spared Jang's fate.

She was also seen as an important mentor to Kim Jong Un after her brother's 2011 death.

They are saying his uncle wanted to become Americanized. Kim claims he wanted to watch porn, drink liquor and have wild sex with strippers. I still say Dennis Rodman is hitting Kim the butt. Ole Dennis is a gay and Kim is his lover. Kim is the ultimate Napoleon Bonaparte complex.

Someone is going to take him out. He's the type to cause a war.

I feel sorry for the North Korean people. More than half of the population is starving for food while Kim and his family rule the country. Most North Koreans are too scared to start some type of revolt.

My uncle told me that cats from North Korea would sneak into South Korea and get caught stealing from the grocery store because they were scared all the food would be gone tomorrow.

Release the hounds! Kim Jong Un executed uncle by feeding him to pack of starving dogs

Jang Song Thaek was stripped naked, thrown in a cage and mauled by 120 hunting dogs that had been starved for five days, according to a report in a Hong Kong newspaper. Kim Jong Un and 300 officials reportedly watched the gruesome hour-long horror show.

Now, the newspaper Wen Wei Po reports that Kim and his brother monitored the gruesome one-hour long execution along with 300 other officials.

Jang and five of his aides were mauled by the 120 hunting dogs that had been starved for five days, according to the Singaporean Straits Times.

    I do.

Dennis Rodman is no diplomat and I don't see how his going to North Korea benefits us at all.

The dogs get to eat better then most people in North Korea, but I always thought it was the other way around in Asian nations.

Dennis should stop going over there. He could say something that could make kim upset and he could be executed. Eventually someone will take him out. Just a matter of time. He's too power hungry.

He's got several other people over there with him now. Kenny Anderson, Cliff Robinson, Vin Baker, Doug Christie, Charles D. Smith and four streetballers. I hope things go well and they make it home safely. We don't need this Kim guy to start any mess.
