As of now, this is how I see it.

And I agree with the poll but i dont think that UAPB could fucccc with AAMU.
 

Here's mine:
Big 3
1) Grambling - I give them in a close one with JSU 'cause they defending champs and ain't been beat.
<br>2) Jackson State - After they meet Grambling may be number 1.

3) Southern - This rounds out the big 3. SU handled UAPB and Ala State.
<br>
The rest. There seems to be a big drop off at this point. Most the rest of these team have lost big to one of the above. Since I really can't separate them, I will group them.
<br>6) (3 Way Tie) Ala State, AAMU, Alcorn - Ala State knows how to win, AAMU will win some despite themselves and Alcorn has won (beat Ala State)
<br>7) (2 Way Tie) - Texas Southern and Pine Bluff. What can you say.
<br>9) (2 Way Tie) - Valley and Praire View. Out of respect of the effort from Praire View, I won't put them 10.

3) J-State
and the rest

I got both Gram and SU beating J-State. It will be another rough Oct for Hughes.

Please be aware that the following ranking is out of resprct for those who have faired better than we have in the early goings.

Tentatively this is how I see it.

1. Southern- impressive and asoundingly Lucky
2. Grambling- balanced attack(would be no.1 but you
didn't play FAMU)
3.Jackson- (just can't bring myself to make a positive comment)
4.Alabama State w/ Kennedy.
5.Alcorn & AAMU & UAPB
8.Texas Southern
9.Prarie View-rounding out the "Texas Terribles".
10.Valley-you will understand after 10/06/01. You let Jackson score 66 points.UMPH UMPH UPHM.

By the way I was following the G-men when southern couldn't decide what shade of blue they wanted to use: "sky", "baby", "navy"(whatever).

One of the losses to Grambling during that n-i-n-e (9) year stretch of victories you mentioned was a 2-0 forfeit? You tell me...what year and why, since you purport to be quite the griot?

And actually there is no indecisiveness in the shade of blue that is our color, it is Columbia Blue. Our other color is yellow. We use many SHADES of blue and yellow and that is in keeping with the COLORS. Grambling on the other hand ADDED red sometimes after they updated their name. Since you can go way back, I don't have to tell you what year both of those occured. And whatever color you pick to wear, you are still Grambling.
 
The forfeit occurred in the 1972 season due to the tragic shooting of two SU students ( I won't use the names out of respect). At the time, I felt that the cancellation should have been just that with the win not going to either side. Don't understand why it was determined to be a forfeit...but I have personal association with one of the victim's family.

Mike, it was recorded as a forfeit because the students were protesting the entire season, and stopping the games and there were other forfeits. As I remember after about the second game. The students simply went out on the field and refused to let the game go forward and the football team members (some of them) supported the boycott so if they didn't or couldn't play, then it was proper to give the forfeit to Southern.

Anyway, let's get off the serious tip and back to smack, so Grambling can only count 8 arse whuppings during that period.

And now guess what record is going to be broken?:emlaugh:

HOW ABOUT:
1. GRAMBLING -balanced attack, returning lettermen, can score no matter who is one the field, kicking game, running back averaging 2 td a game, good coaching, beat a ranked opponent.

It don't matter what the forfiet was for....the bottomline is you would have gotten an azz whippin regardless.
