Well, this is what I know. I actually talked to some schools because I'm interested in obtaining a position soon and this is what i learned:

Prairie View is looking for a low brass instructor although not necessarily working with the band.

Alabama State is looking for a high brass instructor/assitant director of bands (field show/drill master). This person must also be able to teach music education courses (a bit much for one position)

Mississippi Valley is still looking for an assistant band director (percussion preferably).

UAPB may be looking for a high brass person (MAYBE!!)

North Carolina A&T - Head Director

Virgina State - Head Director

Central State is looking for an assistant Director

Have anyone else heard anything!!!
 

Although it is not listed that PV is looking for someone to work with the band, you might be surprised this position may eventually be for an assistant band director !
