Below is a brief article about a proposal to bring an All Football Cable Network to Baton Rouge.

But Nancy, there's no ice! Olympic skater Nancy Kerrigan could move to Baton Rouge along with 250 jobs if a national cable television network headed by Kerrigan's husband, Jerry Solomon, decides to make the Capital City its base. Executives from The Football Network, a soon-to-be-launched 24-hour cable and satellite network, visited Baton Rouge Tuesday and Wednesday. They met with the Department of Economic Development, toured Bon Carre office park and the Louisiana Tech Park, talked to LSU athletic director Skip Bertman and schmoozed with Gov. Mike Foster's staff to determine if Baton Rouge would make a good home for their "all football all the time" multi-media company. Due to go on the air Aug. 23, the network would broadcast collegiate, high school and youth league football games, films about the game, documentaries on pigskin and coaches' shows. Louisiana is scrambling to become the network's home against several other Southern states, says Robert Fenet, a Baton Rouge attorney representing The Football Network in the deal. "This is a huge opportunity for Louisiana, and we have to put a competitive package together to bring them here," he says.

Sounds like a place the SWAC needs to get on with a game or two a week to highlight the HBCU experience.
