he NCAA is liquidating $200 million from a $360 million endowment, giving Division I members checks that range from $165,000 to more than $1.3 million. The varying figures at each school are based on how many scholarships each athletic department issued during the 2013-14 academic year. Each scholarship awarded that year means $3,291.19 from the NCAA endowment.

so each swac scholarship athlete should be provided a check for about 1400.00

The money is allocated based on the number of scholarships a school issues, but the money is not required to go directly to the athletes in the form of payment. It will likely go towards academic support, summer school scholarships, athlete nutritional needs, etc.

The money must be spent on the student-athlete, and the NCAA will require documentation from each school showing that every penny was so spent.

*thumbs up*

I wish the Power 5 conference schools were not qualified to be apart of this pool of money.

Valley only has 72.63 scholarships. :(

Does any other Division I school, that plays football, have that few scholarships?
