New Jersey Amber Alert: Hide the Kids!
R. Kelly is Coming!
Moms and Dads in the NJ/NY area, if your 12 year old daughter is humming "Bump and Grind" or "Down Low",
between November 12 and November 17, you may want to investigate.
On Friday November 1, a judge granted R. Kelly permission to leave Illinois for a concert appearance in the New York area later this month.
Free on bond since being indicted in June on child pornography charges, the R&B singer can't travel out of state without the court's permission. Over objections from prosecutors, Judge Vincent Gaughan granted Kelly's request to leave the state for seven days beginning November 12, according to the Cook County's state's attorney's office.
Kelly is scheduled to perform at Powerhouse, a concert sponsored by WWPR-FM (Power 105) on November 14 at the Continental Airlines Arena in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The concert will also feature Ja Rule, Ashanti, Busta Rhymes, Fat Joe, Erick Sermon, Faith Evans, Doug E. Fresh and Sean Paul.
In August, Gaughan granted Kelly permission to leave Illinois for a nightclub performance in Miami.
Meanwhile, Kelly's forthcoming album is no longer the much-bootlegged Loveland. On the release schedule instead is an album called Chocolate Factory, according to Jive Records. The first official single is the sexually suggestive "Ignition" (sample lyric: "I want to stick my key in your ignition, baby"), which debuted atop the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop singles sales chart.
Kelly, who is due back in court December 20, was indicted on 21 counts of child pornography in June. He pleaded not guilty to all charges later that month.
