A lot of the scores from games are not turned in. JSU is first in the East. Followed by Bama St., Alcorn, AAMU, and MVSU.

GSU softball pregame


GRAMBLING -- The Lady Tigers play a crucial Southwestern Athletic Conference West Division series starting today as Grambling State takes to the road to face Texas Southern.

GSU and Texas Southern will square off in a noon doubleheader today on the TSU campus.

The Lady Tigers current stand in fourth place in the SWAC West at 10-11 in divisional play and 12-13 overall while TSU is 15-5 overall and in the SWAC West.

Texas Southern swept a doubleheader at GSU to open the season.

"We really need to go in and take some of these games so we can make up some ground in the division," GSU coach Vanessa Johnson said. "Texas Southern is on top, so we have to show we can best the best."

Tarra Robinson leads GSU with a .368 batting average and 24 RBIs while Ashley Williams is chipping in with a .347 average and 14 RBIs.

Junior Brandy Davis is GSU's top pitcher at 4-4 with a 2.11 ERA while Natalie Brown (3-5, 2.68 ERA) and Anissa Cox (3-1, 3.04 ERA) could also see time on the mound for the Lady Tigers.
