Maroon And White Papers (Special Edition)

After the cancellation of all football games this weekend, I am sitting here trying to find someone to smack. I said self, it is too early to smack the Spam School, SU need to fix it's mud field or get the students some books for class, GSU need to get Dug a practice field and some weight equipment, and our good friends to the South stop paying Dickerson.

The only good news is that while attending practice yesterday, some bystanders started explaining why we lost to GSU and TSU. They were really supporting the coach, because they assumed I was going to talk about firing him. Well I simply said hey folks we offered the coach a 4 year contract to fix all the things you are talking about. Then they said we were very stupid to give a guy with a record of 18-18 a four year contract. I listen for a couple of minutes to all the reasons why he should not be rehired.

Then I had to stop them and remind them how the conversation got started. I said when I walked up you all were supporting the coach and making excuses for the two losses. Then when I mentioned the contract thing you all said he should be fired.

I started having flash backs. I could have sworn I was talking to GetReady, Robber, Lewis, Suge, JRock, JST and Mike Bigg, SOG, Blue, BattleCat and the some other misinformed smackers on the Page.

Since there is not any good smack going on, maybe I will go by Home Depot or Lowe's to buy some things and fix up the house. During the week I don't have time, because of my full time job on the SWACPage. I can use this weekend to get some work done.

MVSU was save from a beatdown.

What the f*^%king Hell does this mean? Who the hell were you really talking to??? I think you were standing there holding a conversation with yourself. Throwed people do that. It is a good thing that you won that arguement with yourself.

If you are having flashbacks, they are probably partially from the beatdowns yall have taken to earn yall 0-8 record. Hope you got room for 2 more knots on your head this year. Then next year, you can give you coach another raise.

The simplest way to end the talk is to do as Al Davis often states:Just Win, Baby! If you would ever understand that the only way to become a champion is to win it. You can't be a paper champ, or a people's choice champion. You have to be an earned it on the field champion.

Take advantage of this "off" weekend and get prepared to win the remaining games on your schedule. Definitely no more than 2 more losses for sho! (The GSU whipping doesn't hurt you in the conference.) Oh, it might be wise to try and get a win against SU or Jackson. They have been calling out your name!

Lewis, you are starting to sound like Brian Turner. The guy who caught 1 pass in four years and got knocked out in a ball game.

Lewis it appears to me that the book store and mud field or something else got you upset. Maybe somebody put too much salt in the Gumbo last night.

You all just don't understand, but here is the game plan for SU/AAMU Game. Arrive on Friday, have a big social in the hotel, turn up the boom box, turn it down when security shows up, have a good time talkking about whipping SU on Sat. After the party go to the Casino, and win some money. Get up on Saturday, make sure everyone use the restroom. Instruct everybody it is going to be a long day and don't try to drink too much water, because there are no restrooms in the stadium.

Win or lose I always get my 50% upfront.

Reality Papers

Sorry Mighty Dog:

I predicted earlier that you guys would have only 1 victory in September (MVSU). However, being loyal to the SWAC I picked the Bulldogs over Tennessee State. I won't make that mistak
again.

Now hear are some future prognostications. Your next victory will be against Morris Brown followed by a win against Miles.

You will to TSU in Houston.
You will lose to JSU in Huntsville.
You will lose to SU in Baton Rouge.

You will be lucky to win another SWAC game this year.

Now, where is that idiot who recommended extending Cooper's contract.

The man is a loser. He lucked into the SWAC Championship last year. He has not won at any level. It is time for him to drop down to the high school level.

Who were those folks standing on the side lines during practice supporting the coach. It doesn't matter, the players are losing confidence in the man.

But if you need a donation to extend his contract I'll be glad to make a donation.

By the way, I saw Kaiss and the Hampton offense. The man seems to be organized and knew what he was doing. They are averaging over 20 points a game. And yet Cooper ran the man off the field. One of the keys to effective leadership is to recognize talent and let people do what they were hired to do.

Based on the offense this year the Bulldogs will be looking for another offensive coordinator.

thegooddocter,

what you are trying to tell me is that we will have an additional four offensive coordinators with the 4 year extension given to the best coach in the SWAC. I sure hope you are wrong, but you do bring out some strong points in your discussion. You must understand that this offensive coordinator was a QB at the University of Alabama. Don't you agree that if a guy played football at the school the Bear made famous, he should be able to beat the Big Three. We have confidence that we will be in the SCG inspite of our 0-2 start. We have a new offense and this week off allows us to get in more practice before the SWAC Schedule start.

We don't need any donations at this time, but if you want to send a few dollars to the Bulldog Club, here is the address:

Bulldog Club
AAMU
Normal, AL 35762

Beware, you never know who the Dawgs will beat.

Not impressed by Alabama U

I've never been impressed with Alabama Offense.
Secondly, how much was he gien to sign with Alabama U.
Then most recent investigation states that players were payed to play for Alabama U. Check my most from last week on the sports board.

Never mind the smack, it doesn't take a year to install an offense. Anyone who's ever coached knows that you KISS (keep it simple stupid).

Your problems run deep, but stay with Cooper. It seems he has a spell on all you Bulldogs.

My predictions remain; your next victory will be at homecoming.

thegooddoctor, for this season I am trying to bring our tailgating in line with the rest of the SWAC. We decided to tailgate on the road (only) with the main group. At home games, I am trying to participate in atleast four tailgates to include making it to the skybox by game time. As you can see I have very little time to consecrate on my coaching duties. But in the future, I would like to see my tailgating and winning games come together so I can get my 100%.

If it takes two more seasons to employ an offense, either we don't kown football or the coach is trying to hoodwink us. Since Coaches are experts in their field, who are we to say they don't know what they are doing. Coaches are smart people don't you agree? Don't you believe it when your coach tell you it was the player fault? Don't you believe it when the coach tell you the officals made the wrong call?

Alll we have to do on this end like you said is believe what the coaches tell us and everything is going to be OK. You said to keep it simple. Well, we have some very smart players up here in Normal and they can handle complicated offenses. Maybe it will take two to three years but we will get it down. It reminds me of some of the SWAC Bands they have been doing the same patterns for over twenty years and they are good at it. So if it takes us two more years to learn the offense then we are about 18 years ahead.

D-2 Chronicles in Full Effect

Mr. Editor-n-Chief,

Your Maroon & White paper represents A&M real well. Just like your team is .500, there is always a place for the average. The great thing about your paper is that it has always been an advocate of AAMU knowing their place. AAMU has established a great legacy in the SWAC. It has beat every team that is in the lower tier of the division and fell prey to every team in the upper tier when conference games have been on the line. The mighty dogs were exceptional in their overtime victory against Morris Brown College. That great stadium will be around for a long time. Sell out crowds can be cumbersome to the wear and tear of a football stadium. Dont focus to much on becoming a master tailgater. Contrary to popular belief in Normal, this is not a learned process. Either you have it or you dont. You should have great fun at the casino. Since we are acutely aware of AAMU .500 exploits, you may be a big winner at the casino. Because, you will not fare well as homecoming bait. I know it must have been painful for the Valley game to be cancelled. But, it will probably be rescheduled. This is a very important game to keep the dogs around that .500 threshold. I am wondering when your band will make their move and claim their rightful place in the middle of the pack. I am confident that they will make the transition from D-2 very soon and relinquish cellar dwellar status. The great people at AAMU will not settle for anything less than average. Association under normal circumstances brings on assimilation and that is why your band will get better. Like all great space cadets, I am quite sure the Coop has examined some of the fine aircrafts that he may want to fly. I dont think that he will utilize one of the rockets on a one way trip because folks in Normal love them some Coop. It is very refreshing to see loyalty Alabama style...Peace and Hair Grease.

JROCK, I appreciate your editorial. I could not help but reflect back a little with a tear in my right eye. Some years ago I wanted to be President of the United States. I even wanted to be governor of Alabama, but after learning that we couldn't vote, I chose another path. When I finished college, I was offered a coaching job at $4400.00 a year, but I was already making $5400. 00 my junior year in college. So I turned down the Coaching job, left the $5400.00 job for a $5300.00 job. I don't have to remind you that most of my business skills were learned as a paperboy, which I posted a few months ago. Now let me get back on track. You see one must recoginze his or her limitations, therefore, having no control over the onside kick, the throwback pass, the average record, the only thing that I can control is tailgates. You see all I have to do is build a fire, get some pork chops, opps on the 29 we will have a case of Spam for our guest.

After realizing my potential for this season, by the time we get to SU we will smoke you all out with some MD Silver Saten Bar B Que. That Turtle soup you all gave me on my last visit will taste like dishwater after you eat one of my Pork Chops. For right now I am going to let the Coach do his thing and I will do mine. But I am looking forward to seeing Papa Longo again this year.

What happened to Diesel, Lacumba and the rest of the Jags? We at AAMU make it possible for you all to be on top. So give us little people a break.

MD, you misunderstand me. I dont want you to get rid of Cooper. Please keep him. As long as you have Cooper, we dont have anything to worry about coming out of North Alabama.

You ever notice how he gets a new OC every year, but the offense stays the same? You ever wonder why that is? CAUSE HE IS COACHING THE OFFENSE The sooner you guys see that and take them damn blinders off.....OoOOOH nevermind. Onside kick....double reverse option to the QB.

Forgive me for saying this MD, but this is typical Alabama uuuuuh what is the word Im looking for uuuuuh Mr. Matriculation please help uuuuuh. This is typical white folks must be better than us, just because, mentality. Cooper must be able to beat the Big 3 one day, just because he came from a white school. The black schools should bend over cause we have a white guy on the coaching staff. "I shole cant understand it whys we cant win."

White folk...ice....colder

I wonder what ever happened to ole Brian Turner. I wonder if Brian Turner still feeling the effects of when he got knocked out in that game. I wonder if Brian Turner kept the ball when he made the one catch of his career. I wonder if Brian Turner will ever come back to TSPN after we found out he only had one catch. :( :bawling:

If Brian Turner played in 1996. I have an old tape where he is playing. He caught a pass against TxSo (I guess that was his only one) for a TD but after he did that, I think TxSo brought in a new QB and proceeded to whip SU. So Brian's only catch was worthless.

He prolly changed his name to SU Jag 79 or something like that. Kinda like Mr. SWAC did. Whatever happened to Mr. SWAC anyway? 0-8 only fell 12 games short of his 12-0 prediction.
