Alabama State University's marching band performed in an episode of an A&E Network reality show.

The Alabama State University Mighty Marching Hornets Band performed for rocker and reality TV star Ozzy Osbourne on A&E's Ozzy and Jack's World Detour.

Osbourne, famed lead singer of Black Sabbath, and his son Jack were recently in Montgomery and filmed part of their reality television show on the campus of Alabama State University because of their desire to hear ASU's nationally acclaimed band perform.

"Alabama State University is proud to have the opportunity to host the Osbourne's on our campus. Even though the episode was videotaped back in March of this year, we were asked not to publicize their visit until the segment was ready to air. We are extremely excited that the Marching Hornets have once again placed ASU on a national platform." said Dr. Quinton T. Ross, Jr., president of Alabama State University.

Ross said that while Ozzy and the production crew were on campus, they visited with ASU's band at The ASU Stadium, where Ozzy and Jack, along with Jack’s daughter, Pearl, came to shoot part of the show.
