This week the LPGA moves to Singapore for the playing of the HSBC Women's World Champions. It will be difficult to duplicate last year's exciting finish when Inbee Park (in spite of bogeying the final hole), hung on to beat Ariya Jutanugarn by one stroke.

With the LPGA taking a one week break before resuming its schedule in the United States, it is as good a time as any to look at some key player statistics after the first four tournaments of the year.

The American Players and Jin Young Ko have dominated the early season:

I saw where Shasta Averyhardt from JSU was gonna start playing again. Any truth to that? I sent a message to her FB page but got no response.

I read Shasta was going to come back also. She was never good enough to stay up with the big girls. Doubt we will see her again.

After a one week break the LPGA resumes its schedule this week with the playing of the LPGA Founders Cup. This will be the first of 3 consecutive tournaments that will be played on the west coast of the United States, and will include the year's first major championship.

Here is my preview and much more:

The LPGA will have a brand new season opener in 2019. The LPGA announced today that the 2019 season will kick off with the playing of the Diamond Resorts Tournament of Champions. It will be held January 17-20 at the Tranquilo Golf Club at Four Seasons Resort Orlando, in Lake Bueno Vista, Fla.
