LaVar Ball is launching his own league

Who will be the first legitimate one and done that will jump to this league.

People will hate it because of who is running it but the league itself is needed. The only "drawback" is that it seems the players in this league would have to wear BBB. Some who might still wanna cash out on a deal with Nike, Adidas, UA might not wanna do it because of this

Lonzo isn't even required to wear BBB shoes every game. I doubt this league will require it. Only the uniforms will be BBB.

So what if the kid does this league and still bounces around from the G League to Europe?

Exactly.

If you have NBA potential, then a European team will surely sign you for much more than $10,000 per month.

Not sure where people think this is a better or even good idea.

Like the old XFL ... decent idea, but wrong person with the name attached to it ...

Also, didn't see anything about sponsorships and TV that could help pay for this ... And what if an NBA team wants to sign a kid, would the kid have to go through some process where the JBA team holds the rights for compensation ...

Too many questions without answers up in this ...

If this works out....college basketball will be forever impacted.

No it won't. All it will do is WEED out kids who end up getting caught in scandals and destroying basketball programs. We are talking 80 kids? How many top kids do we see every year?

Kentucky is not going to worry about losing say Anthony Davis to JSA when they can now go after say Shaq. It's next man UP for those schools. The SWAC & MEAC might suffer.

I will say it COULD have an impact in the NBA. Lets say those 80 are one and one top players. Lets say NONE of those guys get drafted. Those are still top players. Who are FREE to sign with ANY team.

Lets say guys undrafted were say Anthony Davis, Greek Freak & Kyrie Irving. Would you REALLY want to see those 3 with Dirk in Dallas? That would be the scary thing. However a kid has to do it first.

And I don't see a kid doing it.

Ball would be better if he got black investors and bought the CBA and made a black owner league. Have it during the summer July to end of November. At least then you offer basketball during the summer that is not NBA summer league.

Well, seems like his kids don't have a team to play on. So now he decides to start his own teams? Yeah, oooooooootay. That man ain't launching nothing but destruction on his kids careers. Oh well......pass the popcorn.

Sounds like to me that he’s creating something similar to Canada’s Major Junior Hockey Leagues. Only difference he’s targeting young adults as apposed to teenagers.

These young people are not getting signed for that amount of money to go overseas. They would be happier playing right here in the USA than going over there.

It’s not a game changer.

Any kid who is a legit first round draft pick can go overseas and play for a million dollars a year right now.

Why would anybody with that potential play for Lavar Ball for $10,000 per month?

There are women making more than $10,000 per month playing basketball overseas.

I think that it could be a game changer. You have some of these young men that have nothing and you want them to go play in college where they really don't want to be to play for nothing. Those that are potential one and done are taking basket weaving classes their 1st year and then dropping out after basketball season ends just to pacify the NBA. Why not go get to play and get a little cash. It's not much but it's better than nothing.

If you could get 80 kids to buy into this it could get to be legitimate. The CBA went out of business in 2010, so that is not a option. It could challenge the NBA-D league for having the better younger players and they could sign them to stay there if they don't get signed by the NBA.

The NBA don't won't to mess up their relationship with the colleges on getting players early and that's the only reason they came up with that 1 year rule. They could have made their D league a true minor league for their teams.

How is it not one?

You said it was poorly this and that, Dude do you even know the plans? Do you even know how it would be executed/sponsors etc? You just spewing out hate bro

Who is making a million dollars like that over-seas as a 17 year old? Name 5, 17 year olds (right now) that's doing this?
If that was the case, Don't you think there would be more 17-19 year olds going over-seas to make 1 milli in 4-6 months? instead of going to college to make 450 a month (if that) for work study?

A kid that's ranked #22 as a SG, doesn't want to go overseas to play, he will more likely go play somewhere in the states. Now those kids that are ranked #15 on down at their position don't have to go and play at a school and not earn money (the money yall say these kids are supposedly getting like yall think) They can go and make up to 10 bands a month and still get drafted and not worry about going to school sitting and making NO money

Breh if you disagree with his plan, cool, but what you're saying with no facts is pure hating IMO

Game changer is written all over this and it will be one if he can pull if off for the Women side of the game

You really think those Kentucky players aren't getting something special under the table?

I hope Lavar wins with this league. Just like people thought Ice Cube's Big 3 league was not gonna do well and look how that turn out. I hope Lavar works with HBCU's to use our facilities and arenas for league games. Now that would be excellent!

Ice Cube have a league? How did that turn out?

The notion that athletes have to go about getting something under the table kind of legitimizes what Ball is seeking to accomplish, if nothing else. The athletes should be allowed to cash in on their talents if someone is willing to pay them without risking scorn from an entity that only wants to keep 'em broke.

The CBA was already Black owned for a while before it folded.
