JSU What's Taking So Long?

In the spring of 2013 Jackson State unveiled a proposal for a 50,000 seat, $200 million domed stadium that would also house the Tigers' basketball team, host concerts, and host special events. In addition to seating 50,000 for football, it would hold 17,000 for basketball and 21,000 for concerts and include 75 sky boxes for rental. The JSU Sports Hall of Fame will be located on the first floor.[14][15]

“…the ultimate goal is that we have our own stadium close to campus just because we think that would be more beneficial to JSU.” - Michael Thomas, JSU vice president of business and finance.

When the dome coming. Folks ready to play there.

The dome stadium was unrealistic from the start. The Detroit Piston is getting a new 20,000 seat capacity basketball arena that will cost $862.9 million to construct. Unless they were planning on building a super cheap dome stadium with bleacher seats, no way $200 million would have paid for the construction of a 50k seat dome stadium. $500 million would have been the low end for such stadium.

JSU got that!!!! They filed "Rich Folk Bankruptcy"

Why ya'll still talkin about a DOME? lol
Worry about your won ragged ass stadium. JSU already has the best one in the SWAC!

Yall the ones said you were going to be build it....yall worse than those churches always wanting money for the building fund.

We already have the best stadium. When it's time to build the next great stadium, we will.

TP that stadium you speak if is our second home. We own you in that stadium...as a matter of fact we own your football period. So fix our home away from home. Truth be told as many times as we have whooped yall ass JSU should be the visitors.

Well, at least you'd have fans to see you play. At Grambling, nobody gives a damn what yall do.....win or lose.

I know one school who begged JSU to play at it's stadium so they could raise money because it's athletic program was going bankrupt. Hint, hint.

Man they ain't building a domed anything over there. Metropolis $$$$$ to spend they hath not. Their best chance was to try and lure one of those nfl teams from the west coast and they fumbled that horribly. smh

Fact of the matter is that if it wasn't for JSU football, a lot of athletic programs in the SWAC would struggle to meet it's athletic budget for that year. Let's see, southern, Valley, Grambling, Bama State and Alcorn just for starters.

City of Jackson wanted the dome more than the fans tbh they were just looking for a way to pump in more money

Question....why does JSU need a dome so desperately when we have the most durable and quality laden stadium in the SWAC. On top of that, the state pays for free upkeep and maintenance, while JSU reaps ALL the profits made from events at the stadium.
It's likened to titanium metal versus aluminum, where Memorial is the titanium and the rest of the stadiums in the SWAC are the aluminum.

I have a better chance of having a foursome with Natauri Naughton, Lala Anthony, and the chick that plays Angela on Power.
And that Grambling stadium grass has a better chance of turning green than it's stadium ever becoming better than Memorial. LOL!!!

They actually believed that it was going to get built. I have a better chance of winning the Lottery for billions and that's after taxes. LOL!!!
You need to be concentrating on the upkeep of that dungeon called Mumford. Yall can barely pay for upkeep of that thing, while JSU has no worries about the upkeep of Memorial stadium.
Heck, your own southern fans LOVE coming to Memorial than going to it's own stadium because they know that they'll be safe and comfortable and can freely tailgate like at no other place in the SWAC.
No need to get rid of all of that.

Turf.

Again where is this construction of the dome....yall had articles, chicken and fish fundraisers, cake and bake sales, folks selling raffle tickets for season tickets, cars, vans, etc....that by the way some mysterious transgender person named Zenith Mathyway Jackson-Harris won.........I mean come on man.
