JSU has been named Tom Joyner's September School of the Month!

Hello Tiger Family,

We are excited to announce that Jackson State University will be recognized as the September 2019 “School of the Month” by the Tom Joyner Foundation. The Foundation, formed by the nationally-syndicated radio personality, Tom Joyner, chose Jackson State University as part of its on-going effort to provide scholarships for deserving students attending historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs). Since 1998, the Foundation has raised over $65 million to help keep students enrolled in black colleges, assisted more than 29,000 students, and worked with more than 100 HBCUs.

As the Tom Joyner Foundation "School of the Month," JSU will be promoted by The Tom Joyner Morning Show in September 2019, and will work with the Foundation to raise funds from listeners, alumni, and other supporters throughout the entire year. The show, which can be heard in more than 90 markets around the country, reaches more than 10 million people through its various media platforms.

All funds raised through this initiative at JSU will support the JSU GAP/Student Emergency Fund. Gifts of $2,500 or more to the campaign in September, whether made by individuals or given by alumni chapters, affinity groups, or organizations, may be highlighted that month on The Tom Joyner Morning Show with a 1-2 minute taped segment that will be broadcast and shared online.
