Jackson State University’s out-of-state fees will be “significantly reduced” to $500 per semester starting in fall 2019 after approval from the Mississippi Institutions of Higher Learning (IHL).

Associate Vice President and Dean of Enrollment Management Warren B. Johnson said JSU’s flat fee amounts to $1,000 per year. Previously, the out-of-state fee was $11,228 per year, and then students had to apply for a possible fee waiver.

The College Board cancelled the construction of a new dormitory after Dr. Meyers left. I hope JSU can adequately accommodate the influx of new students.
