What's up with Hale bawling like a crazy women and wiping a fist full of snot from her nose? That ish was kinda gross. I hope see doesn't think anybody in America failed to notice that.

I mean, I understand see won a damn oscar tonight, but come on baby-- try to show a little class. Screaming and crying and shaking and blowing snot bubbles is not the way to do it. You see how your boy Sidney accepted his award tonight and he didn't act a damn fool.

Besides, the only reason see even won tonight is because see let Billy Bob Thorthon hit it from behind on film. It's not like she was the best leading actress in Beat Street, Last Dragon or Purple Rain. Winning an oscar for one of those classics is something to be proud of. Not Monster's Ball. That was just a glorified porno flick.

Now I see why David Justice dumped her goofy azz.

I rather see her come up there and show true emotion than just B.S. everyone. To her it was a big deal who gives a isht what it meant to the T.V. audience or for that matter the live audience, she came real with it and that is a true sign of being humble.:)

Most women are emotional and cry at the drop of a dime, so why is this sooooooo hard for you to believe. :rolleyes: Why does she have to be goofy for showing emotion? This is one of the reasons she won....Halle Berry can show emotion really well on the screen too. Hell, if you watched the Barbara Walters special right before the Oscars even aired, she and Barbara were laughing b/c she made it through the interview w/o crying.....that's just Halle. She's been through a lot in her life.

I cried myself, b/c it was long overdue for "us" as a people and she deserved it. The girl was overjoyed as well as shocked, I'm quite sure.

Give her a break and be happy along with the rest of us. We're progressing as a people, instead of you coming on here dogging her for crying, you should be applauding her for winning.

All the media people that were there were saying that the Oscars were boring right up until Halle won!!! I saw that this morning. Everyone was saying that the show was long, drawn out, and typical of the Oscars until they announced she won.
Thrilla, you should be proud that she won.
It's like her mother told her. "When people ask you what race you are, say that you are black. That's how the screen is going to see you." Or something to that effect.
When she won, her reaction was typical of one that was truly surprised and finally felt that she was given the same amount of respect that her caucasian counterparts get.

Congrats to Halle and Denzel!! I know I'm going to buy Training Day now!!

Halle deserved to be emotional....she's paid her dues

Halle was emotional. She won an Oscar. She should have been happy. I was happy for her. She was crying and snotting. Cuba Gooding Jr. did his best Sambo imitation when he won also. That is human emotion. Nothing wrong with that...HOWEVER

Out of all of the movies that Halle did....she DID win an Oscar for laying down buckked naked and screwing good ole Billy Bob. Did she not? I don't think the man was making light of her win. But it is fact that Halle's character was this black girl that was screwing a white man. Even his father said in the movie "You ain't a real man until you've had....." If you've seen the movie...then you know.

Why is it when someone has an opinion that is different from everyone elses...or..gasp...DA CLIQUE then it has to be about crab mentality and ish like that. Halle has been in other great movies. Denzel has been in other good movies. But Denzel won acting as a THUGGED OUT COP that gets shot and killed at the end and Halle won for having a great sex scene with Billy Bob. Monster's Ball sucked as a movie.

Can't people express their opinions without being attacked up in here?

I'll be the first to admit that I didn't like the fact that it wasn't till this movie that she got nominated. I mean, hasn't Halle done something of worth before this? It would seem that she & Denzel both had to drop a few morals before they got a chance to be in the limelight. But after seeing Monster's Ball, I have to admit Halle did pour a great deal of herself into that flick. She was more than just a thick azz to bone. She made me believe in her struggle & in how easy it would be for someone like Billy Bob to come in and (even with his own struggles) be the comfort & security she sorely needed. There's more to this flick than Halley droppin' it like it's hot.

I'm glad she got the award and I ain't got no problem with her being excited - she deserves it. Makes me wish I'd seen the show - or at least her acceptance.
