WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on Tuesday announced a total of $5.5 million will be awarded to two Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Howard University and Texas Southern University will received $4.5 million and $1 million, respectively, to establish Centers of Excellence (COE) for housing and economic development research.
