For the second time in three weeks, Prairie View has had a player receive SWAC Player of the Week honors.
Senior guard Greg Burks has been named the SWAC Player of the Week for his performance during the third week of conference play (January 14-20).
During the game against Grambling State on January 18, Burks scored 13 points and nailed two free throws with 30 seconds remaining to put Prairie View on top 72-71.
Down 62-61 to Jackson State on January 20, Burks nailed a crucial jumper with 28 seconds left to give the Panthers a 63-62 lead. He scored 19 points and was 13-of-14 from the free throw line. Burks? heroics against Jackson State marks the third consecutive game Burks has made the go-ahead basket for the Panthers in the closing seconds.
