HBCUs During Wartime

I ran across this short documentary produced by the U.S. War Department back in 1944 about Black Colleges' contributions to the WWII effort. It shows footage of Tuskegee, Prairie View, Howard and Hampton and their contributions to the war effort. George Washington Carver and Dr. Charles Drew are shown.

This is a great short film and hope many people get to view it. This information, in the immortal words inscribed on the late Booker T. Washington statue in Tuskegee, "lift the veil of ignorance."

Great Post!

Yes, it was especially good seeing Black history icons alive as opposed to just reading about them or seeing their pictures. Also, I appreciated getting a glimpse of PV's old administration building (which burned down in the late 40s) on film.
