I obtained these names off an arena football fan site. I may have missed some. If I have, feel free to list the players name and school played at. It seems as if Arizona, Chicago and Dallas are the only teams without any HBCU players on their rosters. Ofcourse, I could be wrong.

BTW GramFan, what kind of money do the players make in the AFL and the CFL?

Yanno, I don't know but it's something I've always wondered about. I'm gonna have to check that out.

In surfing the web on the AFL I found:

There are 19 teams
They play 16 games
Season begins in Febuary and ends in June
Active Roster consists of 24 players
Practice Teams consists of 3 players
Base Salary is $900 per game
Maximum Salary is $80,000 a year (I think the average is $30,000)

D.C. will have a team in 2005 and will be nicknamed the Warriors

In surfing the web on the CFL I found:

There are 9 teams
They play 18 games
Season begins in June and ends in November
Active Roster consists of 40 players with an American player limit of 21
Practice Teams consists of 3 players
Minimum Salary is $32,000 a year
Average Salary is $55,000 a year

Thanks for the info,Gramfan. I see that it won't be worth the effort for me to come out of football retirement for. :swink: :swink: :swink:

Man, come on. Do the tryout thing with the Georgia Force and blaze through it. Make the team. Get to training camp and grab a starting spot. Be impressive enough to command an $80,000 salary and you have a nice salary for working 5-6 months out of the year. Since you'd had quit your normal high paying job, you could do telemarketing or something like that in your new "offseason".

Derek Stingley never played at SU but he went to school there. He played baseball at Purdue and another college before transferring to SU and snatching up a dancing doll...
