Halloween

I don't have a problem with allowing my kids to participate in Holloween activities. We normally take them to parties given by friends or go to the Boo at the Zoo event here in BR.

Most churches are encouraging folks not too. Saying it promotes Satan and evil.

I don't have a opinion on it, just stating what I've been seeing the last few years.

That is what my grandmother told me a long time ago, and I guess it kinda stuck, because I don't really observe Halloween in any way.

The way I see it, between Christmas, Easter, Valentine's Day, and Birthdays, my kids have enough reasons to get candy, presents, and other crap they may want but don't need. They can do without Halloween.

I don't think my husband agrees with this, though. Consequently, it will be he who does any trick-or-treating with them this year!

:D

I am not a Satan worshipper, just a SNICKERS worshipper!

If I don't do that they only go by houses of neighbors I actually know, no strangers at all. I don't look at it as a celebration of satanism, I see it as a break in the fall school session for them to have fun and enjoy dressing up.

Halloween started as just a celebration of the end of a Fall harvest for farmers during this country's early years. Then commercialisim got into it so people can purchase a lot of stuff people do not need. Halloween has nothing to do with satan worshiping or demon worshiping. I throw a little party for my sisters little ones. You can't Trick-or-Treat anymore.

Does anyone have any Halloween parties to attend or are any of you giving any?

If so, who are you going as?

Yeah, I do. I need some costume ideas. Something out of the ordinary.

Ha!!!!!

One of the guys in my department has been planning his Halloween festivities for several weeks now. And he really goes 'all out' for it, too. He's been on the phone with this make-up artist from Lewisville, who's gunna do his make-up for this Grand Gala he's going to Thursday night. So, with me being noisy, I asked about the party he's going to. And he says that the street will be blocked off and there will hundreds of people dressed in costumes for this huge party. So I asked him where the party's gunna be......

He told me that the Street Party will be at JR's and the 'after set' will be at The Brick..... I was like :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

I didn't know he was :eek2: :eek2: :eek2: !!!!!!!

:D :D My Dallas peeps oughtta know about JR's and The Brick..:D :D

No i don't celebrate Halloween nor will I encourage my son to partake in this silly day. Why should I go out & get him a costume to wear 1 time & go knock on the doors of folk we don't know just to get some candy...Hell I can just take him to the candy store in the Galleria & get about $20 worth of candy or even to the corner store & he will be happy. But he's only 4 & he hasn't been exposed to halloween so he isn't making a bib deal about it. & when he gets older & he comes to me & asks me about it I will sit him down & let him know why we don't partake in halloween.

I don't celebrate it....anymore. But I think that when I have children and they get to that age....I will allow them to go trick-or-treating.

I don't know if it's called celebrating but I usually make my way to the freshmen dorms and do the prank thang. You know get two people across the hall from each other tie they door knobs together and knock on they doors, vaseline on the door knob, shoveling a gallon of water under some fool door, u know just being a general @$$hole.

Peace and Practice

Has anyone participated in any haunted houses? I use to love going to these things. I here Dallas has some really good ones, but I've never been.
