Celebrated playwright harnesses Hollywood actors for nationwide premiere of Tigerhood: A Grambling Thang at the Strand Theatre in Shreveport, LA.

Tickets are on sale at the Strand Theatre for Tigerhood: A Grambling Thang, a new musical for the stage featuring two of TV?s Good Times stars, Ja?Net DuBois and actor/singer impressionist Johnny Brown.

DuBois played Willona and Brown played Bookman on the hit series. DuBois wrote and performs the theme song to The Jeffersons and now plays an Emmy Award winning role in Eddie Murphy?s animated hit, The PJs. Brown, a celebrated impressionist, also appeared in Rowan and Martin?s Laugh-In and now works guest spots on several films and series.

Tigerhood is written and directed by playwright, Judi Ann Mason, who worked with Brown and DuBois on Good Times and other television and film productions in Hollywood. The script celebrates the 100-year history of Grambling State University. The production also features performances by the world famous Tiger Marching Band.

Outstanding Shreveport talents such as gospel saxophonist Stan Blackshire and actors Angelique Feaster, Vincent Williams, Diane Jones, Mason Williams, Sister Shay and Remington Sterling are among the array of local performers. Another unique feature will be Gramblinites past and present appearing in the production.

Two performances are scheduled at the Strand, Saturday, April 5 at 8 pm, with repeat performances Sunday, April 6 at 4pm. For ticket information, call (318) 226-8555.
