A group of Republicans opposed to President Donald Trump is calling out one of his most reliable voting blocs: evangelical Christians.

The video by the Lincoln Project begins, appropriately, with a Biblical quote:

“Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”

The video combines footage of some of Trump’s most outrageous and outright un-Christian comments with clips of evangelical leaders praising him.

“If this is the best American Christians can do, then God help us all,” the spot concludes:

Anti-Trump Republican Group Launches Blistering Attack Ad On ‘Weak’ GOP Senator

One of the most vulnerable Republicans in the U.S. Senate is coming under fire from members of his own party for failing to stand up to President Donald Trump.

The Lincoln Project released a blistering new attack ad this week that describes Sen. Cory Gardner (R-Colo.) as “just another Trump servant: weak, frightened, impotent.” The spot warns Gardner that he is heading for a humiliating defeat in November, with polls showing him behind potential Democratic challenger John Hickenlooper by double digits:

The ad also calls Gardner a “small man terrified of a political bully” and portrays him as protecting Trump out of fear of being on the wrong end of angry presidential tweets.

GOP Group Hits Trump With $1 Million Attack Ads On His Favorite Fox Shows

https://www.yahoo.com/huffpost/republicans-rule-of-law-john-bolton-ads-083335506.html

A Republican group is launching a $1 million ad campaign aimed at pressuring Senate Republicans into calling witnesses during the impeachment proceedings against President Donald Trump.

Republicans for the Rule of Law, a group of anti-Trump conservatives, said the two ads will run nationally on both “Fox & Friends” on Fox News and “Lou Dobbs Tonight” on Fox Business every day next week.

Trump is known to watch both shows and tweet about what he sees on them. This week, he also praised “the great Lou Dobbs” as he signed a trade deal at an event with the Fox host in attendance.

But if he tunes in next week, he may see an ad such as this one, urging lawmakers to call on former national security adviser John Bolton to testify:

Those type of ads of have minimal affect on people who are driven by a core belief of racist ideology and cultish fervor. For the most part, they tend to cause their targeted audience to strengthen their resolve and dig their heels in even deeper. Collectively, those type of ads tend serve as a rallying cry for them to circle the wagons, and confirmation, to them, that their perverted views are rooted in virtue.

White conservative so called Christians need to be called out collectively for using the term evangelical to shield and buttress them from warranted criticism for their more than obvious bigotry and hypocrisy. Their behavior can truthfully be called many things, but evangelical isn't one of them.

Republican Group Uses GOP Senators' Own Words Against Them In New Impeachment Ads

https://www.yahoo.com/news/republicans-for-the-rule-of-law-impeachment-witness-ads-102225407.html

A group of anti-Trump Republicans has released a series of new ads that aim to convince GOP senators to call former White House national security adviser John Bolton to testify in the Senate impeachment trial of President Donald Trump.

Sens. Mitt Romney (Utah), Martha McSally (Ariz), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Cory Gardner (Colo.), Lamar Alexander (Tenn.) and Susan Collins (Maine) are individually targeted in each of the six spots that Republicans for the Rule of Law published on YouTube Monday.

The voiceover notes how other congressional Republicans during the House impeachment inquiry into the Ukraine scandal “were critical of witnesses without firsthand information” as footage of lawmakers making such statements plays.
