Yeah pbla.

John H. Johnson was a Giant. He built an empire. He will be missed. He kept all of us abreast of black issues. (OK, so I did head for the Jet centerfold first as a kid, but then found it was a great magazine to read). Many people don't know that there are online editions of Jet and Ebony today.

Re: Ebony/Jet Magazine Founder John H. Johnson

He's had a great impact on Black America for a long time. RIP Mr. Johnson

He will be greatly missed. He has left a legacy for all of us and he was a great Icon. RIP and may God strengthened his family during this time of bereavement.

RIP. It's a beautiful thing to see the headquarters off of Michigan Ave. I remeber when they owned radio station WJPC 950AM. Tom Joyner (he was always solo until he got his syndicated show, that's when he became silly) was the morning disc jockey in the late 70's and early 80's. I also remeber "Black Star" and "Ebony Jr." magazines. A definite loss in our business community.

RIP, Mr. Johnson, and may GOD grant his family & friends the support they need, during this time of bereavement. :(

Thank God for his life! He was a man among men. So humble and gracious when I met him as a teenager....I was awestruck. He is a fine example of what the BEST of us can do and what the REST should do!

On to Omega Chapter dear brother. God bless his wife, daughter, and family. To God be the Glory...

Alpha Phi Alpha has lost yet another one of its distinguished brothers, from among a seemingly endless litany of many of the same. The nation and world has lost a pioneer in business and publishing.

Rest in peace, Bro. Johnson.

"Farewell, dear Brother, transcendant art thou."
Thy spirit shall dwell with us now" We'll cherish thy mem'ry,
thy good name we'll revere, to thy glory, thy honour
Brother dear."

What a role model this man was. He worked hard and built his family a financial empire. He provided jobs for thousands of people. He left his family in a great financial position. That's what it's all about.

Rest in peace Bro.Johnson

Thanks Mr. Johnson for your contributions to the black community, and for opening doors that many thought would never be opened, and then keeping them opened once you got the store.

Essence, Black Voices, Black Enterprise, King, XXL, The Source, Vibe, Sister 2 Sister, O, and all the other black periodicals that we now enjoy would not be possible if it wasn't for you.

You will be missed.

NICE
