Going to Japan probably makes even more sense because his contract was just for a year anyway. Besides, the A's were paying him $550,000 per his contract which is standard practice for them when it comes to their payroll. I think this is really a no brainer.

It is about getting paid. These guys have bought into the notion it has to be MLB/NFL/NBA or nothing.
