QUEEN LIONESS!!!
Hello everyone!

Today is the 7th day of the tenth month! Another month is here and we certainly thank God for allowing us to see October. I pray you all have been well and in good spirit and health.

Here is the EYP for October.

Choose to Rejoice

And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God, and the prisoners heard them
-Acts 16:25 (KJV)

This Scripture is from a familiar passage in the Holy Bible recording Paul’s and Silas’ brief stint in prison and their miraculous release. Many Christians refer to this passage to emphatically illustrate the power of praise and worship to God, or to stress the importance of trusting God and having faith, or even to highlight the core principle of our Christian duty to bring a soul or souls to Christ. These all hold validity; however, the above Scripture brings up another point: the choice to rejoice!

Paul and Silas were thrown in prison, AFTER being beaten, for casting out a divination spirit from a woman used for ill-gotten gains for unscrupulous men. They did nothing wrong and were known to be righteous men. Nevertheless, they were imprisoned. Now, they could have easily sat there, plotting revenge against those that beat them, or concentrating on the lashes they just received, or complained about their injustice. But instead, they prayed and sang praises to God!

Our choice to rejoice must go deliberately against how we feel. So many people, who profess to be Christians/Believers, are grumbling discontented people. Rather than grumble and complain, choose to praise the Lord anyhow! Our joy, as Christians, should not depend on our circumstances. Since our joy comes from the Lord, don’t allow the actions of others determine your joy. True joy comes from truly knowing God and having a healthy relationship with Him. A cheerful, joyous spirit does not depend on having wonderful, trouble-free circumstances, but on daily cultivating joy in the Lord! Cultivating our joy in the Lord is not optional, it is mandatory for those who know His salvation!

Today, allow God’s spirit to fill you with HIS joy, and like Paul’s and Silas’, your life will be a witness to all who watch you face the trials that come into your life.

Rejoice in the Lord always; and again, I say, Rejoice!
-Philippians 4:4(KJV)

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all.
