I was a big fan of doom 2 and I am wondering how this one compares to it.

I would be getting Doom 3 for the pc.
I went to bestbuy during lunch today and there was a magnetic like attraction pulling me to Doom 3. I was going to pick up Doom 3 and the expansion pack. But I broke the spell as I extended my hand to pick up the Doom 3 box. I just walked out of the store.
I want someone to tell me that it is hyped as Doom 2 before I purchase it.

I plan on buying Doom 3 for XBOX. My funds have been tight lately though. Man, I remember playing Doom 2 in my dorm room immediately after all my classes where over.
