Derrick Rose is headed to the Cleveland Cavaliers following a one-year trial run with the New York Knicks.

According to Shams Charania of The Vertical, Rose completed his physical and agreed to sign with the team Monday. ESPN's Chris Haynes reported the deal is for one year and $2.1 million.

"He just wants to focus on winning basketball games," Rose's agent, B.J. Armstrong, told Haynes when asked why he picked Cleveland. Rose is "looking at a potential starting spot," according to Joe Vardon of Cleveland.com.

Rose spoke with LeBron James during the process of deciding where to sign, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.com.

It'll be interesting to see where Kyrie ends up. I'd be surprised to see Rose playing in the playoffs

Underpaid? That kneegrow owes refunds to every team he played on. Robbing more people than Donald Trump.

Rose averaged more points per game and shot a higher percentage from the field last season than J.J. Redick, who got $23 million from the Sixers on a one-year deal.

JJ Redick????? Is that your measuring stick? Man, the Glass man has fallen to the depths of the insignificant abyss.

Hey Kenneth..
Since you and Glass man is friends,
Tell that kneegrow to pay what he owe.

Ok in the NBA they have a 82 game season.....

82 times 8 = 656

He has missed 257.

Now this is not counting playoffs...that's 39%...so he has missed a 3rd of his NBA career to injuries. SMH....

.

Rose a better player than Redick. Period. If he's worth $23 million for one season, Rose is worth more.

Rose might not be the player he was before all the injuries, but a guy who damn near averaged 20 points a game shouldn't be getting the veterans minimum while other players -- not as talented or productive -- are signing for way more dough.

I think that disappearing act hurt him. Plus I think he wants to show that he can fit in on a winning franchise again and command more money next season. He isn't going to stay in Cleveland. This is an audition and a chance to get a bigger payday later while playing for an contender.
