Here are the Clarion-Ledger's SWAC football rankings entering Week 9:

1) Jackson State (6-1)

Even when Jackson State seemed to be off its game, the Tigers were able to overpower Bethune Cookman's early spirit. The Sanders brothers had a key role in turning the tables. Right before halftime, Shilo Sanders intercepted a pass and returned it to the 4-yard line and Sheudur Sanders finished off his brother's work with a touchdown pass and from there the points just kept rolling in. BCU scored nine points before halftime, but only three over the remaining two quarters while JSU put up 21 points in both halves on its way to a 42-12 win. The Tigers' next game is Saturday at Mississippi Valley State.

Last week's ranking: No. 1

2) Prairie View A&M (6-1)

A second-half outburst propelled Prairie View A&M to a 48-21 win over Southern to continue its hot streak to five straight wins. QB Jawon Pass passed for 280 yards on 19-of-27 passing with two touchdowns and two interceptions. The dominant win ruined Southern's homecoming and the Panthers gained immense confidence on both sides of the ball heading into an open week.

Last week's ranking: No. 2

3) Alcorn State (5-2)

Felix Harper was the man of the week for Alcorn State. Harper passed for 211 yards on 23-of-31 completions and three touchdowns, two of which went to CJ Bolar. Alcorn State jumped out to an early 13-0 lead and never looked back on its way to a 44-27 win over Texas Southern. The Braves head to Southern in hopes of pushing their four-game winning streak to five.

Last week's ranking: No. 3

4) Florida A&M (5-2)

Florida A&M hasn't made the wins easy on itself the last two weeks. Last week the Rattlers escaped Mississippi Valley State behind Jah'Marae Sheread's four touchdowns for a 31-28 win. Sheread's 19-yard touchdown reception from Rasean McKay with 6:32 remaining and a defensive stop saved the Rattlers from an upset. FAMU now hosts homecoming against Grambling State. It's a game rooted into the history of the two programs.

Last week's ranking: No. 4

5) Alabama A&M (3-3)

While most teams are starting to figure things out, the Bulldogs have been on a straight decline and are trying to avoid their fourth straight loss. The defending SWAC champions started the season with three wins, but since being stunned by Grambling State on Oct. 2, the Hornets haven't regained any momentum. The Bulldogs have an open week and will look to break the losing skid and regain some confidence against Alabama State.

Last week's ranking: No. 5

Click-bait. For the longest they had Alcorn above us. Now they change their headline title.
To be fair, the performance on Saturday definitely was an attention getter much like our performance against AAMU and makes this valid subject of debate.

Ain't nothing to see here pop. We just lil' ole Pee-Vee..... That's what Gram and SU told us.

Wish the CL would simply move us down to 13th in this 12-member conference. We like climbing hills and mountains and such.

lol
Too late now Bruh!! Yall on Top Of The Mountain Now!! How's the View???

2 things.

That 38-0 unmerciful ass beating @ PV, TX in front of a ---> Southern University home crowd since they took over PV's stadium lol <---- during his "auditioning game" which pissed the shat out of coach O and his staffers. lol

Also, this game right cheah @ Baton Rouge in his ear the last 2 years where he and his "talented" players folded like the 5 dollar bill I teased that hooker w/ 2 Saturday nights ago on Montrose. lol Go to 02:24:00 of the game film and look at "them." "OKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYY!!!!"
