Although sports have been on the shelf since March, the pandemic has not stopped the Alabama State University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics from moving forward, thanks in part to a gift for the golf program.

"We are extremely grateful and humbled by such an extraordinary gift and show of support for the golf program," Alabama State head golf coach Quincy Heard said. "This new vehicle is a large step in our pursuit of excellence and significantly improves our curb appeal, attracting the most exceptional students to Alabama State University. We will continue to work toward our goal of winning a championship. With contributions such as this and the support from Hornet Nation, the goal will continue to be in reach."

Heard and the Hornets were recipients of a van donated by Dr. Alfred Seawright, with the design from Malcolm Gross – the marketing director for the athletic department. Vicki Carpenter of CTU of Montgomery then applied the design.
