If you have a chance to catch "The Color Purple" stage play while you're there...DO SO. You'll be in for a real treat. The show was EXCELLENT. It did a very good job of capturing the essence of the movie while doing the audience a major service by keeping the storyline true to the book. The young ladies that played Celie and Sophia were standouts along with the gentleman that played Harpo.
Hope that you get to sit behind some old white people because they had me laughing throughout the play trying to explain terms like "High Yella" among themselves.
