Are CEOs Paid Too Much?

Welp, are pro football, basketball and baseball players?

How bout movie stars or music artists?

How bout coaches at universities and high schools compaired to teachers?

yeah, some of these CEOs did some wack $hit and they should be held accountable,,,, but I didn't hear nobody complaining when dey 401Ks was raking in the loot; now all of a sudden, we (because I have a 401K and am in the working world) are all poor little helpless workers done wrong by the big bad CEOs and corporations?? Give me break folks! This is just like going to Las Vegas or Gulfport-Biloxi and complaining and wanting to sew because you lost all your loot!

The CEOs got over in some cases and there needs to be some kind of punishment for the wrong doers,, but lets not throw the baby out with the bathwater here. You got to roll with the punches! :uzi:

:upset: I SAW THIS REPORT ON NBC SUNDAY EVENING, AND IT IS RIDICULIOUS HOW MUCH THESE CEO'S MAKE EVEN AFTER THEIR COMPANIES GO UNDER. THE GUY THAT STEPPED DOWN AS KMART'S CEO GOT LIKE 130 MILLION AFTER KMART WENT BANKRUPT. THE GUY THAT OWNED WORLD COM HAS LIKE 4 OR 5 HOUSES.

Yes they are paid too much. You should not have a billionare CEO in a company with employees making minimum wage. The brass is paid way too much. They should not get richer and richer every year and the employees situation never get better, especially when the company is struggling. That is why they lay people off, not because production is down but because they want to be able to not take a pay cut.

we were discussing this in class...
one point was = are the employees willing to take on the responsibility and risks that these CEO's take on??? Are they willing to sacrafice (family and time) and stress over the company as the CEO does?

on the other hand = there is a Japanese company that only pays their CEO's a certain percentage over the what the employees make....

I can understand the questions...however if you started and owned a company (u being the CEO) would you want to get paid a certain amount....$200,000...(or somewhere in that ballpark figure)...or $4.5 Million?

Just like a discussion on talk radio today. You got athletes getting paid millions a year to play sports,,, but its supply and demand,,, we the ones who go see them, pay for the tickets, luxury boxes, watch TV to support that system.

I think what we have here is cases of excess which are clearly wrong and the perpetrators should be punished appropriately, but as far as some far reaching law to reign in CEO salaries, I don't know,,, perhaps we need to look into "severance packages" and "golden parachutes" and tighten up there,, but I just don't know about salary caps,,,, because then what,,,, regulate what everybody makes?

If you ask me,,, teachers should be getting paid 50K starting! How teachers fool wit a bunch of unruley arse kids (young kids getting sick, all kinds of family/home problems,, old kids who thank they badder than you),,, 20-35 at that,,, for 8 friggin hours a day,,, and you cain't beat dey arse no mo,,, and any one of them is liable to say you molested them cause dey so dang smart and watch CNN,,,, IS BEYOND ME!
