To: Auburn University Officials, Presidents and National Directors of Delta Sigma Phi and Beta Theta Pi
We, the undersigned, are citizens strongly opposed to the offensive and racist conduct exhibited by the Delta Sigma Phi and Beta Theta Pi fraternities at Halloween parties on Oct. 25 and 27.

The pictures do not lie! They are insulting images that give an indication of the character of the members of these fraternal organizations and provided a scope as to the acceptable climate on Auburn University?s campus in regards to racist discrimination and harassment.

We believe that in the year 2001,there is no excuse or acceptable explanation for the apprearance of these students in Ku Klux Klan robes, Omega Psi Phi paraphernalia, or FUBU attire; all while wearing blackface.It is terribly wrong and completely contrary to both the letter and spirit of our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

We urge you, Auburn University representatives, to remove these chapters from your campus, and immediately implement racial sensivity courses for all Auburn University students, faculty and staff, to insure that such intolerance and ignorance is not allowed to surface again.

That's a nice thought that they sent in that email but let face it......it won't happen.
Guys die during drinking binges and hazing while trying to become associated with these type of fraternities and nothing happens.
Know what will happen....they'll get suspended?temporarily, they'll come back, & they'll do it again. They just won't post the pictures on the net the next time.

The same thing recently occurred at The University of Mississippi (Alpha Tau Omega fraternity) and they were punished with only a year's suspension.
The frats at HBCUs get more time than that for minor infractions.
