"24" Cleans House
Things sure are going to be lonely for Jack Bauer next season on "24." ... Warning: spoilers ahead. Stop reading now if you don't want to know. We're not kidding... According to Variety, almost all those faces you've come to know and mistrust (except, of course, for Kiefer Sutherland) will be gone as series regulars when the hit Fox show's fourth season premieres in January. Other spoiler-ish tidbits: President Palmer (Dennis Haysbert) is out as Commander-in-Chief and the long-suffering Bauer, last seen sobbing like a little girl in his SUV, no longer works for CTU. No word on Jack's new profession, but it's a good guess he ain't working retail. Meanwhile, Reiko Aylesworth, who played humorless CTU agent Michelle for the past two seasons, is taking her crime-fighting skills to "CSI," .........

uh-oh...sounds like "24" may not be too interesting anymore. :(

THats all old news, we knew the president was out in the last episode. He told Jack that he was going to drop out of the race for re-election. Now with Tony having to leave CTU, you knew Michelle was gone too, have to follow her husband. They may have some cameo appearances during the season.

Now with Jack leaving CTU is another thing in itself, he is actually just moving to another intelligence agency of the government and he gets a new love interest.

And the show will jump forward 1 year......

More 24 news
(Hollywood Reporter) - Kim Raver has been cast as Kiefer Sutherland's love interest in the upcoming fourth season of Fox's real-time drama "24."

Raver will star opposite Sutherland's Jack Bauer character as Audrey Raines, an aide to the secretary of defense in Washington. Raver is coming off a five-year stint on NBC's "Third Watch," in which she played Kimberly Zambrano.

Also cast in recurring roles on "24" next season are Nestor Serrano, who will play a Middle Eastern businessman, Shohreh Aghdashloo, who will play his wife, and Louis Lombardi, who will play a new member of the Counter Terrorism Unit.

It all depends on the writing and storyline. If that's still "up to snuff" the show will be all right. I'll watch first before making an assessment.

Regards.

These are just RUMORS and should not be considered spoilers.

Shawn Doyle's character will be undercover when Season 4 begins and his storyline will eventually connect with Jack's.

Jack will work side-by-side with the Audrey Raines character on an active investigation.

The plot will take place in Southern California but not necessarily centered in Los Angeles. The city of San Diego has been mentioned in recent rumblings.

Jack will work along-side the Department of Defense while investigating a terrorist threat.

It's rumored that FOX ordered the developers of the "24" video game to slightly speed up development intime for a mid-December release to coincide with the release of the Season 3 DVD which would be a great marketing stategy for the Season 4 premiere a few weeks later.
"24" co-creator Robert Cochran is rumored to have strongly suggested that "24" focus Season 4 on the legal aspect of federal investigations. Cochran is also a Lawyer and was a writer on L.A. Law.

Kiefer Sutherland may keep his beard he grew for "River Queen" for Season 4.

In July FOX will be sending film crews to the East Coast to shoot perimeter shots for buildings that will be seen in Season 4.

Jack will be working for the Department of Defense this Season.

The new President will be John Keeler and one of the main characters in Season 4 will be his close friend who is the Secretary of Defense.

Season 4 will focus on the investigation into a import/export company on the West Coast and it's connection to international terrorists.

Contrary to many reports, Reiko Aylesworth has hinted that she will still be a reccuring character next season.

The new set is rumored to contain a Pentagon office setting. The Secretary of Defense and his top aide may have the majority of their scenes there.

Construction workers hired by FOX are rumored to be creating a drastically smaller version of CTU, which means that it won't be the main center for filming. It may even be reduced to an office or two.

FOX wants episode stories for the entire Season (not scripts), this will ensure the death of the annoying and meaningless sub-plots. It also allows more freedom to the casting department because they will have more time to perfectly cast a role.

Hey, I showed back up just in time for a 24 discussion! KEWL :smug2: :wavey:

I'll miss Michelle... well, her outfits anyway ;) Nah, she was good. Of course, the missing David Palmer will be a huge gulf, but I think the writers have shown themselves capable of keeping our interest. Seems to me the changes are simply a way to keep the show fresh. When S3 began, I was starting to wonder if they could pull off something unexpected yet quality again. I'm convinced these guys know what they're doin!

Question is, is Kim Bauer gone?? Let's hope so.

SPOILER - Episode1

.
.

The first episode starts at 7am. It opens with a train being blown apart near Los Angeles. A hooded biker kills one passenger who's still alive after the blast and removes a briefcase that's attached to his arm. Jack is introduced next staring into a mirror as if "he doesn't know the man he's looking at." We find out that Jack was fired by CTU by the new director, a woman named Driscoll, over his drug problem. Jack leaves and we learn that he is *NOT* in D.C. as some rumors have suggested, he's still in L.A. CTU is introduced and according to the action lines its gotten a major face lift, so much so that Jack barely recognizes it. Chloe still works there and runs up to Jack. Chloe asks how Kim and Chase are and we learn that Chase is working for a private security firm, they bought a new house, and Kim is caring for Angela. Chloe is as neurotic as ever. Jack's love interest, Audrey Raines, is introduced. We learn that she has separated from her husband in D.C. and that no one knows about Jack's relationship with her, especially her father, who is the Secretary of Defense. She tells Jack that she has something to say but doesnt want to freak him out. She is in love with him, and also tells him she doesnt want a response back, she just wanted him to know. blah blah blah.. Jack will reciprocate later. Audrey's brother is rebellious and is planning a protest at a Lockheed plant where the director is set to speak later that day. A middle eastern family is introduced. Jack uncovers that the terrorists are targeting the secretary of defense (who just happens to be Audrey's dad) . Just as jack figures out that Audrey's dad is the target and tries to warn her, his call is interrupted by a missile blowing up a service vehicle near where shes' standing. She and her father are kidnapped by "Middle Eastern" terrorists while Jack gets to listen on Audrey's cell phone. The terrorists are planning a live execution on the Internet of Audrey's father for his crimes against humanity. Audrey attempts to seduce a guard in a BLATANT rehash of season 1 (but fails). Andrew (chloe's friend) stumbles across something in arabic and calls chloe. At first Chloe brushes it off, but then Andrew sees some of his co-workers being tortured by terrorists for information and leaves the building and calls Chloe. Andrew gets on the phone with Jack, after the CTU director, Driscoll, realizes whats going on. In any case, Andrew is freaking out and Jack arranges a meeting with him. Driscoll lets Jack go with the head of field ops to pick Andrew up, but before they get there Andrew bumps into one of the terrorists at the meeting place. Andrew says "are you Jack Bauer?" and the terrorist says yes. Jack then arrives and doesnt find Andrew and calls him, which makes Andrew realize he's with a terrorist.
