This was expected, its the norm every year since he has been at ASU. The surprise to me is the coach hitched his wagon to him knowing what has happened the previous years he has been at ASU. His lack of faith in his freshman QB to allow him to throw deep passes more than once a game and only a few mid range passes is the big failure.

This is some of the reason that I didn't particularly mind Gram giving snaps to 3 different QB'S early in the season. He's not as dynamic as A. Body ,but QB 2 & 3 were probably promised a fair shot at showing what they can do instead of being stuck as back ups just waiting for an injury or total benching of QB1. Coach Rob( is probably my favorite opposing SWAC coach ,but I agree about completely hitching himself to an injury prone QB.

Is the Freshman just afraid to look down field & make mistakes or being held back?

I think he is being held back. He only throws one deep throw per game. Historically he throws short throws in the first half and short to mid range in the second half. Coach mixed it up in the UAPB game, he threw a mixture of the two in the first and second half. I think he has potential, but it looks like he wont be given the chance this season. I have attended or watch every game, his deep route receivers are open (maybe because opposing coaches know he wont be throwing to them) a lot.
