MONTGOMERY, Ala. | Alabama State senior offensive lineman Tytus Howard received an official invitation to the Reese's Senior Bowl Wednesday afternoon, becoming the third offensive lineman in school history to receive the honor.

Howard, who was on the Preseason FCS All-American watch list, joins a pair of offensive lineman who previously played in the game – Lester Sims (1972) and Patrick Johnson (1992). He becomes the first Alabama State player since 2007 to receive the honor of being invited to the Senior Bowl.

He joins a list that includes wide receiver Horace Brooks (1993), running back Rico White (1994), Reggie Barlow (1996) and Michael Coe (2007). Since the Senior Bowl's inception in 1950, a total of 4,795 players have participated in the contest, a select group which includes 38 Pro Football Hall of Famers such as Walter Payton, Dan Marino, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Greene, Frank Gifford and Joe Namath, as well as many of the NFL's biggest current stars such as DeMarcus Ware, Clay Matthews, Patrick Willis, Von Miller, and Russell Wilson just to name a few.
