JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Jackson State University's homecoming concert, featuring Lil' Wayne and 2 Chainz, was abruptly canceled on Tuesday, the day the concert was to be held.

JSU made the announcement via Twitter on Tuesday morning.

The concert was supposed to be in the university's Assembly Building at 8 p.m. JSU says the $30 tickets will be refunded.

No word yet on why the concert was canceled.
 



REPORTER: 2 Chainz what led to you and Lil Wayne cancelling the concert especially since this is Homecoming Week for JSU.
2 CHAINZ: Well not to put anyone on blast but let's just say the finances were not in order for the concert.
REPORTER: I'm sure there could have been something worked out so it would not lead to you all cancelling.
2 CHAINZ: Look, on top of them not having our money, me and Wayne felt bad performing the song 'Whole Lotta' when it's clear this school right now doesn't have a lotta nothing.

Jsu students are mad their homecoming concert got canceled at the last minute, saying the school broke and didn't have the money to pay 2 chains and Lil wayne...they're also claiming THEE QUEEN won't release refund checks cause the school broke.....damn lol

THEE were charging Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz $100 per kilowatt-hr (kWh) for electricity and each group were required to do a 3 hour minimum show. After doing the math, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz would have owed THEE right at $33 million for giving them a concert.
