Southern's Quinn excited to face FBS powerhouse Georgia

Listen up maggots! And that's an order!
Quinn, who says he also was recruited by Miami, Marshall and Western Kentucky, says that his return skills are instinctual. He says he does watch pro returners like Devin Hester, Tyler Lockett and Antonio Brown and admires their passion for the game.

The 145-pound Quinn says his size isn't a disadvantage.

"Just me getting the ball (with) everybody taller than me, they've got to go down to tackle me, I've got the advantage," he said.

Quinn's exploits this year already include a 100-yard kickoff return for a score in the opener at Louisiana Tech and a 43-yard TD catch last Saturday as Southern put up 50 points for the second straight week with a 50-31 rivalry win over Jackson State.

It's why Georgia coach Mark Richt called Quinn a "stick of dynamite right now" ahead of the diminutive sparkplug's biggest challenge yet - a Saturday matchup in Athens with the Bulldogs of the SEC.

Excited?????

I am sure he is. Quinn played at a high level in High School in Miami. I follow him on twitter sometimes and I see he played against a lot of FBS level talent in high school as he is always getting accolades from that South Florida crew that are either in the NFL now or at big time schools. If he had been 5'9, he wouldn't have been playing FCS ball. So in Quinn's mind, he has played against this type of talent all his life based on where he is from. Not like he is from Iowa and played 7 man football. Plus dude has that South Florida swag. He going to come to play to show he belongs. Like the chip on his shoulder. Now I can't say how the rest of the team is going to react to playing Georgia. But we all know Quinn has NFL camp invite dreams. So he has no choice but to be excited if he wants to play at the next level. Georgia ain't to be feared if you want to play in the NFL.

I don't kick a brother because he goes to a different school in the SWAC. Quinn is NFL material.

Dude has heart and thoroughly enjoys playing the game. Good young man from all accounts. Got to love his effort. I hope he gets that shot at the next level. Our last good KR got a shot and ended up in Canada. Ezra Landry from New Orleans. He was on the 2003 team. Quinn is way more talented than Landry.

Now that is saying something.....We have been very fortunate to get the two. Both of those guys make me remember Eddie Payton from back in the day......I'm not saying they are him but like Eddie, they are really specialist at the return game.

Quinn had plenty of FBS offers. His dad wanted him to play at SU.

But JR, Heisman Trophy material?!

Dude where did I say Heisman Trophy Material. We should pub him as an All American candidate FCS wise though.

Here goes the honorary su wannabe.
La Tech plays nowhere near the competition Georgia will play throughout the year.
Doing just "ok" against a school that beat your school by six TD's is not so impressive.

What does that have to do with the score. You do realize how many yards he racked up on returns against La Tech. You have a warped way of thinking. FCS Qbs have gotten drafted based on the NUMBERS they put up against a FBS team but their team got mollywhooped. I remember Nebraska beat Central Florida arse but Daunte Culpepper put up big numbers and it helped him get national attention and drafted down the line. If Willie Quinn shows he can return kicks at a successful rate against FBS opponents, it has no bearing on what his team does. Folks expect his team to not be anywhere close to winning. You do realize Quinn had damn near 200 yards on returns against La Tech. 197 to be exact.

You see I just igged that mess.

Quinn will have a national audience on the SEC Network to show what he got. If he can break one against a Top 10 team on a national stage, that's all he needs. People (especially scouts) and ESPN will remember you in the spotlight games (unfortunately the first one was against us).

But let me stop... I'm ttun riding SU according to them...

Now that's logical thinking, unlike your su cohort. All American perhaps, but HC candidate....no way.
