The video of an angry mom who publicly shamed her 13-year-old daughter for posing as a 19-year-old woman on Facebook, posting racy photos of herself, and befriending men, has sparked media attention, gaining over 11 million views thus far, reports Mirror.

Valerie Starks of Denver, Colorado, became irate after discovering that her daughter created a secret Facebook account and was posing as a 19-year-old, posting racy pictures of herself, and befriending adult men.

As a punishment, she recorded a five minute and 40 second video of herself — with her daughter next to her — revealing her daughters’ truths to her adult Facebook friends, shaming her.

I agree that she should have gone on Facebook and told all the friends that the girl was underage but not without explicit language. I know a number of guys who were convicted for sleeping with underage girls not aware of their age until either; 1) the girl got pregnant, 2) the parents found out, or 3) friends knew about it and told people.

One guy comes quickly to mind. He is from St. Louis, MO and had a basketball scholarship to Indiana University. His mom married a guy from Jonesboro, AR and she moved there during his freshman year in college. the guy came home to visit after meeting a girl on facebook who said she 18. Well they started messing around and come to find out the girl was 15. Before you ask the young man's mother was white and his biological father was black. When he went to visit his mom in Jonesboro he would holla at the girl and they had sex a few times. Well the young lady posting pictures of the guy on facebook and one of her friend's parents saw it after reviewing their daughter's page and contacted the police.

The parent's of the young girl did not want to file charges but the state picked it up. Dude served 20 months in prison and now has to register as a sex offender.

The only issue that is concerning -- and this seems to be the trend lately -- is parents disciplining their children on video and posting it on the web. I will never understand that.

Let me ask you this question Kendrick. Are you a parent?

The reason I ask is that often times people who are not in a situation provide advice without ever having to face the difficulty.

It doesn't matter.

People never ask is X person a football coach, or a doctor, or a lawyer or a dog catcher when someone questions them about how they go about what they do.

But can't question a parent, though.

I just don't get why parents want to share these moments with the world. That doesn't mean I think this woman or any other parent is a bad parent or bad person.

Isn't that something? Almost as horrible as a single person thinking themselves qualified to give advise to a married person about.... marriage. lmao

Or even worse still, an individual, who doesn't have a class "M" license and certainly doesn't know what it's like to roll a throttle AND speed-shift w/out a clutch, attempting to give advise to a true motorcyclist. smgdh

As a parent you have to take every single option to raise your child. Now I strongly disagree with using profanity laced words as kids. I believe in talking to them with hopes that it will through to them. Yet, there are times when you have to protect your child from themselves...in this case the mother had to go online and put her daughter out like that. Hell her daughter could have an innocent man locked on some bullshit.

Now the part I disagree with is the mother coming back thanking all these people etc....maybe social media is the problem in your family. Also, the mother goes on to explain her felony, that she is sharing a room with her "man" i.e. step father to the child and pays rent in her brother's home.

When disciplining my child I could give a damn less who is supporting me etc....

So, I guess ya'll are gonna refrain from raising questions regarding the practices of not only parents, but cops, judges, politicians or anyone else because ya'll never held any of those positions, right?

No Kendrick...the issue is no parents are highly critical of parents. It's like that old saying...have you walked in another man's shoes... You seem to be hell bent on providing criticisms rather than solutions.

Raising questions or giving advise, kendrick?

It really is because as a parent there are times where you must drastic measures.

Careful, Found. kendrick has introduced another onversation into this conversation because he wants answers about judges, cops, and politicians. lol

Diversion be damned lol.

I agree with Kendrick. I don't think it is a good idea to post videos of your kids punishment online. Yes, you warn the men on her page that she is underage but this recording mess is crazy. No I don't have kids yet but I believe in privacy. In this reality TV, social media obsessed world. Privacy is a lost concept.

Look, I wasn't even being critical here. I think asking about the pathology behind parents documenting these incidents for the Internet is fair.

Pop in this situation the daughter should have been exposed. Yet, Kendrick is a reporter and sees what he wants to see. Notice I said there is a limit.

This should be documented. She is 13 posing as a 19 year old freak. Kendrick what if you saw her and was 19 thinking she was the same age and had sex with her then end up being charged for molestation...I bet you would have WISHED her mom would have outed her.

If a 19-year-old needs the mother of 13-year-old to keep him from catching a charge, then that say a whole lot about that dude than anything else.

Too often it is just the parent showing off. Expose the child on her page by giving her real age and be done. Punishing her does not have to be on the net.
Yes I have raised children.

Just limit her use of electronic devices, which the mother probably paid for anyway and monitor everything she does. When she turns18, the mother has to let her go. There was no need to embarrass her on Facebook. Parents these days need to stop giving their children the free will to do whatever they want at the parent's expense.

Dude you are REAL journalist because you are still seeing bullshit.

Girl shows revealing pics online saying she is 19 but lying. Guy who is 19 hits her up and they have sex. Girl's family/friends find out. Parents don't want dude to be charged because the fast ass daughter was lying. State says fuck you we putting him in jail to teach HIM a lesson.

What fucking lesson has been learned? And before you answer you know damn well a snotty nose, hormone filled 19 year old boy is not going to be trying to sneak and find out how old she really is since she is posting all these pics and shit.

Now...this woman has outed her daughter and probably saved some 19 year old from going to prison because of her hot in the pants daughter.

The mother did the right thing by getting on her daughter's facebook page and telling the world that her daughter is 13. Yet, she did not have use profanity laced words or all this thank you BS....that took away from the entire message.

The mother would have never had to do that if she was monitoring her daughter's Facebook page from the start. This is similar to the mother slapping her son in Baltimore. There's a deeper issue going on with some parents of today and their children.
