Head Coach Jay Hopson and his staff were eager to get to the fax machine this morning to find out who would join the Alcorn State football team for the 2015 season.

This years' class includes 27 outstanding players from the states of Florida, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas, South Carolina, Louisiana and Alabama.

Coach Hopson is expecting all of the signees to contribute right away, as the Braves look to defend their SWAC title in the upcoming football season. "We are very excited about the group of guys we signed today," said Hopson. "We recruited players that could come make an immediate impact and that wanted to become a Brave."

Nobody from Fayette? Oh well. This class sucks!

Wonder why the JUCO signees aren't listed. Also expecting a few more in the coming days. :read:

Yeah, because we know this guy is already on campus taking classes.

A local legend and would-be USC superstar will finish his collegiate career far away from his home state, and that’s probably where Shaq Roland should have started it, say some of the people closest to him.

Roland will play his senior season at Prairie View A&M, an FCS program 45 miles northwest of Houston, his mother told The State on Friday.

“He’s pretty excited,” Petina Etheredge said.
Roland was named a PARADE All-American after leading Lexington High to an 11-1 record while gaining more than 2,000 yards and scoring 24 touchdowns as a senior in 2011. He was tabbed a five-star recruiting prospect by Scout.com.

I know I read about two from California and one from Texas who were expected to sign with PV. One of them from Cali had like 10 division I offers, (including offers from Grambling and Valley). The other one was headed to UAB before they dropped the program.

Nice.

Did Valley sign 2 star JUCO WR Trevin Kelly? I think USM was trying to pitch him a late offer. That kid runs a 4.4.

Yes we did bruh. He committed and signed with us :) Now we just waiting for this quarterback to send his NLI in. I think William Lulu may be the star of this class. He has great instincts as a middle linebacker. When he hits you, YOU KNOW YOU GOT HIT! He also seems to diagnose plays really well, which shows he has been coached well and probably studies game film consistently.
