So WHAT if the SWAC Presidents Choose to Not Ban Teams This Year Due to APR

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't the NCAA impose sanctions like less scholarships and practice time? JSU handled business before the 2012 deadline, the SWAC as a whole had an APR problem back then and its even worse now. The SWAC kicked JSU while they were already down, now the tables have turned and people looking crazy. We are our own worse enemy I tell ya, nobody wants to see another school do better than theirs and will do and say anything to to block them.

Sorry JSU, but if you would have self-imposed a penalty on yourself, the SWAC Presidents might not have ever needed to even vote. But because you didn't want to handle your business and was willing to let it continue, they had to step in.

The APR-related bans do not include conference tournaments and championships...only NCAA-sponsored tournaments. And unless the NCAA lied to Ross Dellenger, then what JSU folks have been saying simply correct: the ban doesn't include the SCG.

For JSU, the ban on the postseason may amount to nothing. NCAA officials on a conference call Tuesday afternoon said the postseason ban does not effect the SWAC Championship Game, which the conference plays instead of participating in the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

In March, SWAC commissioner Duer Sharp said the SWAC presidents would have to vote to ban JSU from the championship game.

Banned from what?...The Playoffs? But the SWAC doesn't participate in the playoffs..Do We ?

The Ban would have prevented JSU from participating in the playoffs, but the SCG is not considered part of the regular season. Since JSU would have swept their APR situation under the rug instead of self-imposing penalties, the SWAC Presidents had to do JSU's job for it.

That was not the reason... and you making up stuff. But technically, 7 SWAC teams are playoff eligible so the ban does apply to those teams.

Dude, don't you know that don't count. It's not in the NCAA handbook and it does not include a definition of clarity. It does not matter what the NCAA says or what the SWAC commish says or what COPs say. The only thing that matters is what J4L, Fiyah and MH say. It's for clarity. :lmao:

Oh is that what had happeneded!? Thanks bruh!

The NCAA handbook says it is a postseason game. It does not say anything about it being only a postseason game only under certain circumstances and not for others.

So you're saying that the NCAA handbooks says it is a postseason game, yet the NCAA official stated that the APR-related ban does not include the SCG? And doesn't the terminology in the NCAA handbook differentiate between conference-sponsored postseason events and NCAA-sponsored postseason events?

I thought Kenn got clarity on this as well via his email correspondence with an NCAA official? Postseason is postseason (as far as events after regular season), but the ban only applies to one of the two types of postseason events: NCAA-sponsored.

I don't think the handbook even mentions the SCG.. LOL but if it did, it would refer to it as a conference sponsored post season event... which APR does not cover. Again, this case was closed last year. You wrong; I'm right.

They know that. They just too prideful at this point to say they are wrong.. especially to ME! :lmao:

The handbook mentions an FCS Conference postseason game. How many are there?

Exactly. This is the internet. We can look up your old posts. Besides, why else would you argue that the SCG was a part of APR, if you were not arguing post season conference tournaments and championships? I think you and fire need to have a conference call.

Stop it TP. Just stop.

Bottom line is the SWAC football champion is determined by the SCG therefore making the SWAC conference champ ineligible for the playoffs because the playoffs have started already. So sure the SWAC office/Presidents made the decision on SU and JSU not being eligible for the SCG because for US it is post season. But in reality, they did not have to ban anyone in Football. The winner of the SCG has no impact on going to the FCS playoffs thus not violating the APR sanctions.

Now Basketball and Baseball are different since our Tourney champion gets an AUTO BID to March Madness and CWS playoffs. So you damn well better ban someone from participating in it if the NCAA has said they are ineligible for post season play. You as a conference risk the NCAA pulling your auto bid. Every D1 conference has a auto bid if they have a tourney. It don't go to the regular season champion of any conference. Even those big programs get at large bids when they don't win their tourneys and just win their regular season. So basically that's why we have a basketball and baseball tourney to get to the NCAA post season. So you should stop saying the NCAA don't dictate that for those sports. They do. If we didn't go to the big dance or CWS playoffs we have no reason for even having a damn tourney for either of those sport. So stop trying to say our Presidents could have snubbed their noses at the NCAA APR ban for basketball and baseball and that they don't care what we do. They do. Just try not following that ban and send your team to your conference basketball tourney and they fugg up and win. The NCAA is going to be all in your arse for being arse holes and strip your tourney auto bid because you knew damn well not to have those teams eligible to win. It ain't like the SCG where the winner just goes home because that game is moot. But if it was determining who got a FCS invite if our conference champ was eligible then you better believe that would EXPECT us to do the right thing and ban folks.

That's why the Big East banned UCONN from their tourney as well. Just say our football game is only for us and the NCAA don't care about what we do because we already don't go to the playoffs. Same for the Ivy League. If they had APR issues in Football, it would not matter either. LOL.

"Being an old farm boy, chickens coming home to roost never made me sad. In fact, it only made me glad." Malcolm to the banned SWAC schools who voted against JSU.

.

JR, I didn't get any further than this.. but that's some bull. Ya'll need to stop making up stuff. What President told you that? NAION! NOT NAION!

The banned teams from the SCG because they banned ALL teams from conference sanctioned post season tournaments if they were banned from NCAA post-season tournaments. Had nothing to do with the playoffs. Because, no matter HOW you try to spin it, JSU IS a playoff eligible team.

I'm sure the rest of what you wrote is some made up hogwash too so I won't entertain it.

Whatever floats your boat TP. You know damn well why they did it. Don't even know why you trying to be right. JSU banned or not by the SWAC was not going to get a FCS invite even had yall went 10-1 and not made the SCG. Bottom line is the Presidents banned SU and JSU in football to keep either from the SCG to make a point no matter if the NCAA considered the SCG postseason or not, it is our post season. Since the SWAC don't have an auto bid to the FCS playoffs and the remaining 7 have to not make the SCG and get an at large bid. It wasn't necessary for the conference to ban us in Football. That was the point I was making. But you kept on saying the conference did not have ban even Grambling or anyone for basketball and baseball conference tourneys either. Which they had no choice, because that had potential for embarrassment if they had went to the bball tourney. That was my whole point of you making this whole the NCAA don't care what the conference does when it comes to APR. Yeah they do. If they didn't, then conferences would not ban their teams. That's all I am saying.

The only reason folks are pissed because it kept you guys from the SCG. Had the SCG winner meant a trip to the FCS playoffs. No one from SU or JSU would be saying isht. I am playing the Devil's Advocate but you are too illogical to see it. LOL. The SWAC had to look good for the NCAA bottom line. If we didn't, we look bad. We already look rogue by not participating in the playoffs anyway as some of your fellow JSU folks want. You can't have it both ways. So abide by the rules. If you want to sit back and laugh at the other schools for having APR issues, that is fine. I got no issues with that. I am not having any sympathy for them either. But we can't be allowing our schools to be participating in conference championships if they have not handled their business. That's just the way I see it. You should not be able to win the regular season nor participate in the tourney or SCG if you are on APR sanctions or other type of probation. It sends the wrong message. What our schools have to do is fine a way to fix the problem so we don't have these issues.

Now carry on with your back and forth arguments with who is right and who is wrong. LOL. Yall are something else on here at times.

Oh, and here's another thing TP:

I believe the SWAC Conference as a whole gets an overall APR score. That score is compared with other conferences. Another reason why the SWAC had to take enforcement action. Remember the old phrase, "You Are What You Eat?" Well, a Sports Conference's prestige are the member schools it lets in.

JR, why did you enter this fray? You're usually MORE astute than this.

Your brief diatribe has at least two flaws in it. First you told TP to stop, eventhough he is very accurate AND you basically agreed with him without even realizing it. You should've told J4L, MH and Fiyah to "stop it".

Second, the NCAA HAD to ban the SWAC from the NCAA football playoffs and why? What if two teams from the same division just happened to be ranked in the top twenty? One would be eligible for the SCG and the other could theoretically be eligible for a trip to the playoffs.
That's why the NCAA did what it did.
The NCAA had it's bases covered regardless of the SCG.

Now please tell us why the SWAC Presidents had to vote eventhough the NCAA already banned us from the post season NCAA football playoffs?
