Alcorn declares independence from Capital City Classic

The Alcorn/JSU game wasn't really a rivalry anymore, why schedule the game in November, move the game to September.

Good. Don't let JSU take over Lorman lol

As often as Alcorn is 2-8 going into the classic, they will be happy to see JSU come and take the home stands. This game only only thrived on the efforts of JSU. Hopefully, this will also allow to move the game to 3 or 4 PM when we host.

Great move by all involved {Prez, White and Hobson} We will have several months to prepare. When McNair went to Southern his junior year, they had imported rental stadium seats to increase seating capacity:smash::smash::smash: Let's Get It On
It wasn't just for that game lol. SU used those every game.

But good move Alcorn. Charge them $100 to tailgate and $25 to park like Casem did SU that year when he was Alcorns interim :) .

Man that stretch is a fool when SU visits so I know it's going to be a disaster come November 17th.
Folks better pack a tent and post up overnight b/c the game is at 1pm.
Folks in Jackson will have to leave at 5-6am just to get a park inside the entrance
And it's only a 1.5 he drive.
I usually leave the club, stop @ Walmart and get my tailgating supplies, and head to Lorman @ 2:30am. Funny thing, when we make it on the reservation, there are always some SU fans already eating breakfast.

JSU2DEC,
I was going to say that. A few years ago, either Collins or Jones was begging to end the CCC no one would listen. The white man said end it and it is done. Lol

I am happy though, I hope the classic dies and that there is never another promoter hired.

I guess you all do realize this nothing to do with Hopson right. Brown brought this up last year but had to sign the contract because it wasn't our home game to decide the location. Now, if anything we were able to draw one more check before we pulled out, even if that check was small.

Sure did. Jackson State fans just better hope it doesn't rain. AAA would be overrun from all of the stuck vehicles.

That was a sight. Hundreds of folks stuck in the mud  . That rain came out of no where. It was hot as hell, then rained, and got even hotter lol.

Good...But remember that there are also some Black and Gold Tigers in Louisiana that haven't played in Lorman since 2007. Just a Thought.

BTW, let's take this ONE GAME AT A DAMN TIME! Stop focusing on Jackson State to start the season and focus on each opponent ONE BY ONE before JSU.

Grambling is our first game. But Like I said, if we had only given Hopson and his staff the chance to conduct Spring Training...

Great move. Just like UAPB fans was glad when Grambling pulled out of the Delta Classic in Little Rock. I'm sure Alcorn and JSU fans feel the same.

Coach Hopson the night before the 2012 Jackson State vs Alcorn State game.

The rivalry left when yall got them janky promoters involved!

HOLD ON NOW. *flag on the play*... Alcorn signed on to that crappy deal. The CCC has never been as much of a rip-off for JSU as it has for Alcorn... Who's fault was it that Alcorn signed on.....ours? We would never (I'd hope) agree to play a game at your stadium EVERY YEAR, but JSU has managed to convince Alcorn, Valley and Southern to do it at some point or another lol.

But when we say it, it's a lie. lol

jones wanted on alcorn's campus. Jones knew how the atmosphere on campus was when it took place when he was a student athlete. The administration listened, but there was a lot of opposition to it being brought back to campus. Money was a major issue. Hotels were a negative in the area. But the casinos welcomed it both natchez and esp. Vicksburg. The issue is the hotel festivities at alcorn's hotel during the Friday night before the game. Are you kidding me?? The stretch will be jammed pack. Gonna need plenty of traffic control, and police officials. Fans will be rabid.

Will the Mississippi National Guard, be responsible for security just in case JSU lose the game? Will new roads be built to get off campus?

The Lynch Street Nation don't travel very well. So don't expect Alcorn's stadium attendance record held by the Jaguar Nation to be broken.
